well, i just crawled out from under my vibe to see what was leaking. i thought it might be the tranny since i just recently had the oil changed at the Pontiac dealer. i thought maybe they loosened the wrong bolt. to my suprise i found a drop coming out of the water pump below the pulley. the car is a 2003 gt with 15k miles on it. just woundering if anyone else has had this problem?

Better check it closely. Maybe they had the radiator cap off and made a mess. I have never seen a water pump failure on a Vibe come through our service dept yetOh 53k on my 04

yeah, i'm kind of lucky. i get to drive my work truck home and not use my car to drive back and forth. i checked around the engine compartment and didn't see any fluid orther than the drips form the water pump.

If you are still under warranty (<3 years) take it back to the dealer.

I have a 07 Vibe with about 20,000 km. I had a strong smell of antifreeze. Took it to one dealership , then went to a different dealership. They pressure tested the system, put dye in it and I drove it around for a couple thousand more km.. The water pump was leaking and had to be replace. The first dealership had a closed mind. NOTHING goes wrong with a vibe. Guess what. The water pump needed replacing.

Lucky you... this might be an opportunity to find and install an electric water pump and save a few HP.
