Tire rotation schedule...Owner's manual = 5,000m / 8,000khttp://www.mygmlink.com = 8,000m / 13,000k / 12 monthsSo which is it?

most tire places will tell you 6,000. That is when I try to rotate mine.

huh i dont think the hertz place ever rotated the tires i use, the back ones have like 90% and the fronts are lik 60%....something like thatoh yea, i have a 2004with 30k miles on it now. i will neet to rotate these but i need some stands or jacks. any tips on this? or ill have to drive to the cities

I just ran into this problem. If you have a lowered vibe go for every oil change. if it is stock height go for every other oil change. so 3,000K lowered, 6,000K stock height. Trust me I just ran through my stock tires on 2 rotations and only 18K on the car. It is an 05 vibe. the guy i got the tires from is a expert on auto-x tracks and knows his stuff about tires. He is the only one around here I trust with anything.

I just did mine this week. Took two days because I painted my brakes too. I have one jack stand and used the car's jack also. If your just rotatine the tires one stand will do. Should take less than an hour to do all four.

do you guys use a torque wrench or just by 'feel'?

just by feel is fine. most people dont owna torque wrench and no shops use them that I have been to except for the guy that gave me the info this weekend that I posted earlier. He is very particular when it comes to cars. Dude doesnt have a girl, just devotes his life to any car other than ahonda, he hates overated hondas.

I normally rotate them every other oil change. Which is about 6,000 miles. I also torque them all down to 76ft-lbs.

I rotate mine every 5,000. Coming up on my first one with the vibe. I go back to front and cross the front to back. Also use a torque wrench. Your roters will warp if you do not.

Your roters will warp if you do not. I don't know if it's different for FWD, but for AWD you don't cross the tires when rotating (front to back on same side only).

I have AWD. I checked with my tire shop and he said to still rotate back to front and front criss cross to back. He did add unless they put cheep tires on it to start with.

Doesn't the manual show how to Rotate the tires? Usually it will cover both FWD and AWD????

really, no cris-crossing on a fwd? that would help me out a ton! i could do it in my ghetto parking spot/lot.

My shop guy said when I told him what the manual said : They must come with cheep tires. and, that rotation pattern will do the job but the criss cross will maximize tire life. every tire will be on every axel at least onece every 4 rotations.

You don't cross-rotate with directional tires:For non-directional tires:

My 05 AWD came with Eage GS-A's. I think they're directional and you're not supposed to criss corss directional tires. I just did min at 5,000 miles and went front to back.I briefly owned a Subaru Forester and the owners manual prescribed rotating them front to back.

RSA tires are NOT directional. And a forester has a different rotation because of it's AWD system. The AWD vibe should not use the same rotation as the forester.

Digger,I know what the owners manual and everyone here says about rotation but the more I think about it, your tire guy has a good point about criss crossing. I think it's common sense that you'd definitely get even wear and if you don't have directional tires, what's the harm?

Dear lord I have almost 9k miles and havnent rotated my tires yet Looks like Ill have to do that this weekend.

If you don't rotate at least every other oil change, you'll be buying tires far sooner than you'd like to.

Last time I looked at my RSA's they were stamped "directional" - I've rotated my tires four times now - always front to back as the manual indicated.I bought a pair of jackstands and a 2 ton floor jack from sears for ~$100. It was one of the best things I've put in my garage - besides my two vibes.

I know this is an old thread, but I didn't want to start a new one. I've never rotated the tires myself. Always thought it would be more of a hassle than what it was worth someone else to do. Is there an easy way to rotate the tires? If you are just going front to back and back to front, that's easy, but what if you want to criss cross?

Take it to walmart for $6. they'll rotate. The ones I have been to even use the torque wrench at the end.
