How do you store items like a small containers of oil and coolant (for emergencies), jumper cables, funnel, blanket, frisbee etc. in your Vibe? For my other cars I had a carboard box but of course that eventually falls apart. I was thinking about some sort of plastic rubbermaid container. What do you guys use?

I have all that stuff in the two back side compartments, wrapped up in rags to keep em from rattling. There is also room in the spare tire compartment. That leaves the whole back area open for big stuff.

Damn, you guys are prepared!I have no fluids. A pair of jumper cables too short to reach to the batteries of most other cars. The cables, some work gloves, extra fuses, my owner's manual (how often do I need it), a rain poncho, and a couple of hand tools (screwdriver, pliers), and a torque wrench all under the floorboard. The cables and such are kept in a Case Logic bag I found on discount at Target:Only paid 5 or 6 bucks for it, and it fits PERFECTLY in that recess above the tire...because everything is in there, makes it real easy to take the whole kit out to dig for something, or if I need to remove it to make space for something...I also have all my stock bulbs (headlamp, foglamp, ambers, and even dome lights (no, domes aren't stock either )) in a box, each bulb was cleaned with alcohol, wrapped in cotton, and put in a plastic bag, then all secured in a little box...just in case I ever have an HID crisis...plus, I always know where they are...There was an episode of Motorweek where they covered every thing you should have in a roadside emergency kit...it's still sitting on Tivo, one of these days I'll pull it off, make the list, buy the stuff, and be ready. My parents use nice sturdy baskets like this: in the trunks of the Grand Prix and G6. The big holes in the basket make it easy to attach the hook of a bungee through, and they find various points in the trunk to keep it from sliding. You could do the same thing in the Vibe, and use the side hooks and the cargo tie-downs provided to secure it. The baskets were a tad pricy: about $25 a pop when they got them a few years ago at Lechter's Housewares (remember that place???? I used to work there, was traumatized to see it go out of business, loved that place), they might be a bit more now, but well worth it. We have a bunch of them around the house, they're virtually indestructable. There's a store called "Organized Living" (http://www.organizedliving.com/) that is like a Lechter's and Ikea rolled into one and shrunk. They're very gadgety. Anyway, they sell them...but OL only has 27 stores nationwide. If you ever get the chance to check out a store, do it. Fun times indeed!

Uhm, well, I basically have absolutely nothing, so I guess I better hope nothing ever happens. But if I ever need cleaning supplies, James has it covered...LOL. And he has it all in a Rubbermaid container, which is how I would do it if I actually carried anything.

I have the Vibe packs that attach to the back of the back seats. One for the First-aid kit, one for ropes and the third for the fork mount bike holders. Drivers side compartment, jacket and back brace. Passanger side, Air compressor and terry cloth towel. Under neateh compartment, flares, bunjee cords, tow strap, rain gear, assorted tools, duct tap, electrical tape, tire plug kit, and probably some other things that I can't remember. and the cargo cover in that skiny compartment that is always forgotten about.

My stuff is kept in what they call the Multi-Purpose Cargo Organizer. It came with the Vibe, was the only one near that had all the stuff I wanted. But it also had they cargo mat and organizer. A real pain in the neck at first. There are stating it's made for the Vibe but it doesn't fit betwen the wheel wells. So I had to cut some out of it to make fit. After it it's just fine. But this is not a staight forward job. The oranizer is made to fit the Tahoe, Silhouette and else...But it keeps the back clean.Mike

I have a really large duffle bag that I use. I can't really secure it to the tie downs, but it helps when carrying smaller things or when I have a lot to carry. It's really been helpful now that I have an apartment on the 4th floor because I can carry a lot in the bag and make fewer trips up and down the stairs.
