Just wondering if u guys/gals can help me out on this one. I made an appointment with a tuner shop to get my lowering springs installed on my gt...Dude at the shop estimated that it could take 5 or 6 hours @75 $/hr. thats a little more(time) than i had in mind. Im not a "do it yourselfer"...so i have no idea how long it will take. What do u guys think ??Thanks in advance.

Took NSimkins and myself working together about 1 hour per wheel to do...If the guy is doing it alone, I can see it taking that long...

Suspension my brothers car took us about 2 and a half hours. We got the whole compressing the springs thing down. It's quite easy actually.

I am ordering the S-Techs in a week or two. I am having a lowering spring party mid-March. Me and my friend sare installing springs on my Vibe and his Civic, and my dad's installing a set of wheels on his Ford Econoline. So it's gona be a blast. I'm installling the springs myself with Inder and Dima and dad so it wont take a lot of time or money If you wanna truck it up here to Michigan we will help you LOL!

That sounds like alot. In the past I have changed springs with the help of my friend. You can borrow/rent a spring compression tool from many automotive supply stores in Edmonton. You might need to do an alignment afterwards though. And since you'll have to remove your struts, why not install a strut tower brace at the same time? It's been nearly 5 years since I lived in Edmonton so I can't remember contact info of any mechanics I knew there, but I probably can ask a friend who used some.

took me and my friend Jason about 2 hours to do mine on my Vibe, from jacking up the car in his garage, removing wheels and springs off the car. Then going to the shop he works at, using the compressor to change the new ones on and installing the lowered set back on the car and putting the wheels on. I like to say I did as much of it as he did but I was more or less the go get it guy. "Hand me that wrench?" ya know... lol but at least I know it was done right. I can't remember now but I looked up the book time on that job but I think it was around 4 hours... so $85 an hour at the shop I worked at would have been expensive.Mine was about a 2 inch drop, yours look good to, about the same drop?

Ok so since deepstaged.com is gone i guess i had to use the hotchkis lowering spring install instructions. All I have to say is (removed)!? The sizes on the install were WAY off, bolts that were supposed to be 14mm were 17mm. Also those two HUGE bolts that hold the drive train to the wheels together... how did you get them off? They were on so tight I couldn't even get them off standing on the damn ratchet (215 lbs) Anyone else have this problem? Was is this hard for the rest of you? I don't have impact wrenches and I dunno how much a breaker bar would help

A breaker bar is the ticket.

Sorry Smokin' I have no idea, I pretty much just watched as a couple guys worked on it. Although they dident seen to have much trouble with any bolts.
