When I first got my Vibe, I removed the rear right headrest so that I could see as much as possible until i got used to the car and the right rear view mirror. Put it back a couple weeks later and no one sat there in the mean time.

My grandfather had a '79 F-150 that he put over 300,000 miles on. He didn't take very good care of it either. As I recall, he replaced the sparkplugs twice in the 12 years that he had it lol. He sold it to a woman for $1500, who then restored it and is still driving it today.I'd have to say that the build quality of this truck is better than that of my Vibe. There isn't a single rattle, squeak, or buzzing noise anywhere to be found. And in regards to interior noise - forget it, the truck is much, MUCH quieter than my Vibe.Think I've found my next vehicle when it comes time to trade the Vibe in

Eh, i'm personally not a fan of the new dashboards in the new ford trucks (expexition, explorer, F-150). The driving, however..is something to experience. I'm just not a truck person..As for the actual topic... I went ahead a few months ago and installed a reverse warning system like you see in Navigators and Expeditions. It beeps in a certain "urgent tone" as you approach something backing up. Depending on how far out to the edge of the bumper you put the sensors, it might have helped prevent the incident.. I bought the Directed Electronics 9600T (I think that's what it is..) It has four sensors that're installed into the bumper, a small "brain" module, and a speaker for under the dash. This thing has significantly improved my parallel parking confidence, as well! (Even though I still use mirrors and look around..) It helps when i'm not too good at judging distances by sight..I'm sorry to hear about the huge repair bill! How much of that is covered by insurance? Or is that after the insurance..?

Insurance is covering 1400 of it. I've got a $250 deductible.
