At the auto show here at the State Fair, there is the new Mustang GT, the Ford GT, the C6 Vette, the 500, an 05 Vibe, the G6, an SRT-10, a Viper, and some import stuff. The GT is a slick car, and my wife wants a Yukon Denali that they had as well.

i've seen a lincoln mark LT truck (nothing special, just looks like a dressed up F150) on the road a few times lately. actuallly, the guy lives right down the road from me and he must work at ford, so i see him in a lot of new cars. he was driving an '05 mustang around for a couple of weeks this fall.

I saw a few new Avalons on a truck coming from the Toyota plant in KY... I didn't know they were going to change anything on 'em. Pretty good looking car, for a big cushy sedan.

I work at a Ford dealership here in houston so i would have to say the most interesting cars i have seen are the new Ford GT and a loaded Mustang GT.

Whats so great about the new g6 isnt it the replacement for the grand am I saw one the other day and if you ask me they screwed up big I had a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am gt and loved it and would give anything to have another.

I love the looks of the G6 way more than the Grand Am - and my parents are on their third grand am, mostly because I kept insisting they get one because I used to love the Grand am that much. But I think the G6 is a much better car.

The GA couldn't last forever... The N-body platform on which it is based is already 20 years old. Granted, we've seen "redesigns" on the outside and many mechanical changes. But underneath, I'm sure that a 2004 GA isn't that much different than a 1985 - kinda like how the Cavalier has been the same underneath since 1982. A new design, building on a new platform was a good idea to me.Go G6!

Might i add to my previous post by stating that even working at the biggest Ford franchise in houston i still prefer my Vibe GT over anything we sell.

DAYUM! It's one thing to see a supercar in a show or a picture but to see one in person is a whole different experience. I want to see a GT on the road!I saw an H3 on the road the other day. i think they look sharp. WAAAY better then the H2.Also I saw a Qvale Mangusta. They aren't really THAT new but still, to see one arond here is pretty neat.

Few days ago, I think that I saw orange 2005 Ford Mustang GT V8 "Limited Edition" with custom rims, dual exhaust and graphite interior. It was very nice ride and I hate to see gas mileage....

I've been seeing Ford GT's at a "Ford GT" build shop on the Northwest side of Maple Rd and Stephenson Hwy. It's about 1/4 mi west of the intersection. I say build shop because you can see right into the shop, and they've got Ford GT chassis' on racks. They also have a showroom that often has 2 or 3 Ford GT's in it. They also showcase souped up '05 Mustangs quite often. Neat place. Sorry I don't have pics. Maybe this weekend. Don't want to seem to obvious snapping pics....especially when I work for the competition. Here is what an assembled car looks like....

It was decent looking, but I couldn't help but think the rear end looked like a stratus. Also, the guy driving it at the time was a (removed). Swerving around, cutting people off to get one car ahead.

I still don't get what all the rage is over the GT. First off, IMHO, it's fugly. Second, it's only 550 hp. That's only 50 more than a Vette Z06. And I'm sure by next year (or two years), the Vette will put out that much or more. Last I checked, the Z06 was a hell of a lot cheaper too.

I saw the new Charger too sitting at the dealership. I stopped and took a good look at it but didn't have my camera with me to take any pictures . It had nice leather seats, but I wasn't really feeling the dash and interior. It was very boxy and trimmed...like they used to be.

Late last week I saw and drove the new Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged coupe, and was very impressed! It was Silver with a BIG rear wing (that made it very hard to ID the car behind you). Excellent seats, very nice short-throw shifter, great exhaust note, gorgeous 18" wheels (I'd love a set like that on my Vibe GT!) and cackle-inducing acceleration. All in all, it's a lot of car for only $23,000 (this one also had XM and a moonroof). If I had the money, and could get away with another three-door car, I'd pull the trigger on that ride. The ride was also quite impressive for a tightly sprung sport compact car with 18" wheels and tires. By the way, it had W-Rated Pirelli P Zero Rossos with tread compound that literally stuck to your fingernail when you dug it into the tread - now THAT'S grippy!!Check it out if you get the chance, y'all!

Yesterday I saw a Smart fortwo Cabriolet on 696 near Gratiot. It had Canadian plates on it. I wish I had my camera with me. It looked just like the pic below that I got from their website. It was so small I could probably fit 4 in my garage LOL.

This isn't exactly a "new" auto, but I was shocked to see one up close...The other day at work, I'm bored, so as usual, I look out to the lot by my car...and what's parked next to me but...**GASP** A FREAKIN MASERATI QUATTROPORTE! Yes, a MASERATI! A $95,000 automobile! And the first thing I said to my co-workers: "They're eating at FRIDAY'S?"But yes, this is the best picture I could get, it wasn't there for very long once I noticed it...And the owners? A very elderly couple...nice way to retire, eh?BTW: Here's a better pic of one...

I finally went back to the states last week (first time in 2 years) and saw the Ridgeline for the first time in the flesh. Yuck!Saw the Charger for the first time as well...I like it better in person than in pics. Same for the B9 Tribeca...the nose is not nearly as offensive as I thought it would be, and the profile and rear are actually kinda nice. And I also saw the G6 for the first time in person...MUCH better looking than in pics. I seriously thought it was an Acura until I saw the front end. Hats off to Pontiac for the G6...very nice. I take back everything bad I ever thought about the G6 coupe too...I haven't seen that one in person, but if it's anything like the G6 sedan, it's gotta be good.

Saw this yesterday:I did take more pics but my phone corrupted them. It's obviously new because it was covered with fake padded mesh and whatnot. It had Michigan plates and was traveling with a caravan of other Michigan plated cars. What is it exactly? I saw a Hyundai badge on it.

Seeing that you saw the crooked H on that thing, my best guess would be that it is the upcoming 2007 Santa Fe.

The vehicles you saw were probably "mule builds" and did not have production quality body panels, paint, and trim. They use the camo to hide the ugliness of the test vehicles so that people don't see what it looks like before they reach production.

Regarding Maserati, I saw one on the road the other day. I don't know enough about them to tell what model/year it was, however, I did make this observation: 1. Cool: Maserati Convertible on a sunny day.2. Less Cool: Middle aged man with cigar in a Maserati Convertible on a sunny day.3. Uncool: Middle aged man with cigar and stetson in a Maserati Convertible on a sunny day. 4. Busted: Middle aged man with cigar and stetson on a sunny day in a Maserati Convertible with dealer plates!

I've seen about 5 solstices, 1 sky, few porches, and a few new vettes. all except for one solstice/sky was in or going to Little Rock. I saw a red solstice with the top down sitting at a resturant and really wanted to turn around and look at it close, but I resisted the temptation I wish I would've turned around now; I haven't seen another one since
