Eh... ok.The difference between the SC for Manual vs. Auto is in the ECU. But yea, it is funny that they have specifiec installation instructions for manual even though they do not sell it.A quote from an update from the SEMA auto show from early November 2003 states;"Minor complications had kept Pontiac from releasing the Manual transmission model due to consumer quality issues. These quality issues, explained by Jim Chandra, Vibe Product Manager at Pontiac, were due to the excessive wheel hop that was encountered during the testing phases. This issue was non-existent on the Automatic transmission models due to its specific design. A revised engine mount, which will eliminate the wheel hop, will be released within the next couple weeks that will enable Vibe owners with the 5-speed transmission to purchase the Supercharger kit."Well two weeks has stretched into 3 months, but this sounds about right for GM since it was supposed to be out over a year ago. If you ever visit the Matrixowners site, they have dozens installed on manuals, autos, AWD, and us Vibers have a total of one install. I'm wondering if they are ever going to release it for the manual, or if I should just upgrade to the GT.

Any Canadians get a price quote yet. I went to a Pontiac dealer here and he wouldn't even bother to look it up for me. He told me it didn't exist. Nice, eh?

Hopefully the prices will all change some. I think though I saw around $4000 canadian for one in an artical my parts department let me read but they can't find it so I can varify. Of course I get it at cost and not even half the labour rate... so even if it was $5000, it would not cost me that much. Still no word on the manual one yet huh?

On step 16, figure 47, it says to use special service tool GM part number J43178 to disconnect OE fuel supply...Did you need this tool? If not, how did you perform this step?-thanks

Yea it can be removed with some effort and hand tools. But if you can get the tool... get it. Will make that step easier and you will not destroy the stock fuel line. Also the TRD instructions indicated to replace the crank pulley bolt. A special tool is needed for that too. Do the GM instructions require you to replace this bolt? I had to have my tranny shop do it.

The bolt needed to be replaced with a 12 point socket and the fuel line i would recommend using that tool it would be easier and safer so you dont mess anything up. also if you got a newer s/c on the piggy back pcm their is a 6 pin connector leave that connect alone and just hook you the red with to that blk/org as they say. Its the newer harness and they dont say anything about it in the instructions.john

WOOHOO!!!!!I called the Pontiac dealer I got my Vibe from and they told me the S/C would run about 2,995.00, the same as I've heard half a dozen times. BUT.. she said if they go through a different company that they use that I could get it for around $1500 to $2000, with the installation running about $280

That sounds a lot more reasonable. Is the price quote for the install still through GM? What kind of Vibe do you have?

2003 base vibe with the 1jzz 130 hp engine. The $280 installation was through the GM dealer I bought the Vibe from.

From where are you getting the SC from? In FL? Damn if its 1500 I could get it. Keep us posted.

I'm assuming they're getting it from FL. I just finished paying for a new engine (A pushrod through the engine wall blew my last ) so I told her it'd be a while before I could afford it. She told me whenever I'm ready to give her a call and she'd make the arrangements. The delearship is in a town outside of Pensacola, FL called Milton. If anybody lives around there I'd be glad to give you their name/number so you can call them to see about adding the part to your own car ^^

uhmm? vibes dont have pushrods unless youre reffering to a connecting rod,or a different car. either case how did you cause the damage? and thats a great price,... will they ship a supercharger!

As I've been adding aftermarket pieces to my ar, the simplest of things slipped my mind.. To change the oil for the past 10,000 miles >The next day at Bob Cole's Imports, they told me the engine was blown beyond repair, and a trip to the same Pontiac dealer told me that the 1JZZFE engne would run $7300 retail (Or else they were trying to squeeze the money out of me ), and I ended up finding one from a wrecked 2003 corolla with under 5000 miles on it for 875, which I bought immediately. My recent I'm-an-idiot story Not sure it they'll ship, but I'll ask for you. What state you live in?

Well if price is right I have a friend in FL not sure where but if it will save me $1,000 to $1,500 its worth asking for a favor.

I'll try to find out where she would be buying it from. It would make things a whole lot easier if they were a nationwide distributor with warehouses near you guys.
