there was one good thing about CC closing, back in december when they first announced their closing they put up on their website that Pokemon Platinum was coming out march 22nd. a week later Nintendo confirmed it. who knows how long we would have waited to get that news! probably a week or 2 longer.

I went to the Source and they do have sales too.

I picked up a nice set of Polk speakers for the Vibe. I saved $30.00. They sound pretty good.

Just listened to this week's podcast of This American Life, the final act of the show deals with the closing of Circuit City, and how it went down behind the scenes. It's a really good episode this week, worth a listen.

My son and I bought Logitech webcams at CC in late Dec. Was supposed to get a $30 rebate each. Got e-mails that rebates were on the way. So far nothing. I suppose we are just among the unsecured creditors but I would have thought that was a manufacturer's offer.

All CC's are closed around me, and the ones in NYC are closed as well.

They're all gone now everywhere.

That's why when I buy something with a rebate, I view the rebate as a "bonus." If the rebate is a requirement for it to be a good price or for me to be able to afford it, then the product is too expensive and I don't get it. I've had way too many rebates that I never got.

Kari - my philospohy is that with all of the rebates that I send in even if I lose a couple, overall I have still got a lot of very good deals. I don't golf - so I consider this one of my "hobbies".
