Handling in winter without snow tires?

2009 AWD handles the snow well on stocks. Upstate New York 12" storm (first test). No issues.

I guess I'm the exception to the rule. My 09 with 17" all season stock Goodyears have been great in the snow here in Maine...best car I've ever had in snow; including the front wheel drive toyota's I've owned (non-Matrix).
