The thing is, neither of us exceeded the speed limit. Black ice is not something you can just avoid. Yes, if I was driving slower I would not have flew off the road. But to say that we were driving recklessly is a huge over-statement. And the reason joats comments were unnecessary is because I stated that I did not want any stupid lectures, no matter how much wonderful wisdom that he felt he could share with me. I admitted to going too fast around the round-a-bout, and I learned my lesson by rocketing over a curb. The reason I even bothered to share this is because I thought it was funny how we both flew off at the same time. You don't see that too often. If I wanted joat to tell me that I drive recklessly and put children's lives in danger, I would have titled the post "tell me what I did wrong".

well, look at it this way, what if i had an entire post illustrating how i drove home trashed the night before and found my car parked in the yard the next morning, then asked that nobody comment on it, just make fun and crack jokes. would you?joat means well, and is right when he says that if you don't want certain comments, you shouldn't post it. this is the interwebs, afterall!

Yeah your right. Black ice and drunk driving are totally the same. I love how we assume that because I slid on some ice, I must have been driving like a bat out of hell. I hold no hard feelings towards anyone in these forums. It's just that the main thing I like about these forums is that people usually restrain themselves from making snap judgments and insulting comments. When you quote my comment about not lecturing, and then you go ahead and do it anyway, thats a little disrespectful. Again, I have no hard feelings, I was just defensive. Everyone, absolutly everyone, has made a mistake while driving. Live and learn, trust me, I need no lectrues. The pain in my wallet is enough.

hell, i went around a curve on a backroad in my vibe one time and slid right off into a field, because of the snow. had it not been for the AWD, i would have been stuck there!you must also realize, joat was getting your goat (i'm rapping now) a bit. had you not requested that, he probably would have said nothing.no big deal, nobody thinks you or merz are idiots, things happen. if nothing else, that little extra paranoia can help you avoid a repeat.
