I mean what's the cost of snow tires compaired to an insurance claim or WORSE..? I so want a Fajits no sause with sour cream right now... I hate you for even mentioning it... What's funny about it, it's so "basic" but sooooooooo good... lol.. .I'm so torn on what to do for the winter, I have my old Subie, just rotting away in the driveway, with snow tires.... Would have to re-register, get a battery and worry about the head gasket going out on it... OR, I could buy a set of winter wheels and tires for the vibe.... The Vibe would make a MUCH better mountain crusier for snowboarding, it's just not half as cool when you can't drift into the parking lots... lol... I'm LOW on money, so i'm thinking the Subie is the way to go, but then I have the Vibe sitting for the winter...

haha.. my bad.. I am always careful so no worries I only play where there is no traffic/ other vehicles and only drive within my abilities.. esp in crappy weather. and if you mean snowboarding then haha yea i will try not to destroy myself this year but no promises.. last year i had a huge black eye that was so swollen i couldnt see out of it.. ( tried boardsliding a kinked rail for the first time and at it pretty bad)Before you go putting the subie on the road check craigslist, maybe someone has a couple snows laying around! I know a local forum here and a couple guys have snows i might check out.. these goodyear rsa's have the WORST traction ever.Quote, originally posted by Sublimewind »Lol, but you said "holiday" and I know what you mean, just as bad as saying Mighty.... you can't win.... We're off to a great start:12/1-2 = 7"12/4 = 5"12/6 = 6" Forecast12/8-9 = 9" ForecastWe'll be over 2 feet by next week. lol! I've been having a ball, drifting in my AWD Vibe and killing everyone else off the line, except for a STI with snow tires, lol. I gave him a thumbs up and he did the same for me keeping up with him better than most others have. lol. This is quite a bit considering we had only about 1/2" for the past two x-mas'. This a guaranteed white x-mas. lol. Bring it on!!!! This means we are going to have a very, very cold January-February. Temps have been high's in the teens and lows in the low single digits this week. But we're going below Zero tonight...

There are other techniques that can be used for getting better stopping distances as well...

So we have 4-6" of ICE (1" crust) over snow everywhere, my drive is like a BAD BAD ice rink.... I sure wish I could stud my snows down here....

Anytime any of you wanna send some snow my way in CT I"d appreciate it. With global warming the Sound stays warmer and it's harder to get snow on the shoreline. Guess I'll wait for the ice age to show up so I can drive in the snow again.

I'm not looking forward till you get the next big ice storm or snow like the blizzard of 00' I still got family there and they don't prepare for things like that (well my aunt might have had a generator installed, not sure)I know in 00' 3500 school kids spent the night in local business, hundreds of people spent the night in thier cars on the highway, Buff was COMPLETELY closed for 2 WEEKS... people were out of power for weeks... man, that was big... I was there, it was FUN for me... I went from N.Ton to Buff state (which ever one is in buffalo, not Williamsville) that was a 20min drive, took me 1.5hrs to get there and 3hrs to get HOME..
