quote:You guys that are waiting are the ones with the Automatic Base vibes.I'm waiting since July 15 for a base manual Vibe.....quote: plus stick is way better to drive then the automodel! I agree with you! I test drove the two model (auto and 5 spd) and I prefer the 5 spd. It's like it's not the same car. It's not the same good feeling with the auto.....

The first vibe I tried was an Auto at Hamel Pontiac, I was verydissapointed to the point of looking for another type of vehicle....I found the GT somewhat higher priced....but I couldnt resist.so aftertrying 2 of those at different dealers, I found the stick model was way better and alot less forceful and noisy on the engine, INMHO compared to the automatic, and also the awd....so basicallygoing to GT there was no delay there were several dealers that had these in stock!
I can add my voice to the chorus here. I waited 6.5 months - that's right, all you "oh, poor me, it's been 3 months" people might want to hold off getting the cheese to accompany your whine - for an AWD and ended up defecting to a GT and I'm WAY happier than I could have been with 123hp of sluggishness. In addition, the fact that the GTs are on the lot means that you have some bargaining power there - I paid $1,000 less than MSRP for mine, when a different dealer laughed at me when I wanted to bargain for the AWD I ordered. There are always benefits to not following the crowd- they're just not usually so obvious!
You should have drove down to quebec and bought one.....you would have saved the PST taxes also, I think.....I had checked at 4-5 dealers at that time.(oct 12-25) and they all had stick, with not alot of options.......but no automatics, and they all told me delay time of 3-6months....I found that unacceptable. Especially since I told all the dealers, in that case to give some type of rebate.
Same here.I got a deal also on the GT, no prep tax, no AC tax, Alarm system, tinted windows, free rear mud flaps, 17 inch mags, 27XXX.00 Game over!!! I also bugged the delaer alot........I made him crazy....lol, This Particular Neptune GT was straight of the truck all factory plastic was on it..the others were already done...and probably were test driven by many people........I made them get it ready firstthen after I tried then thats when the barganing got done. In the end I saved close to 1500-1600 dollars, I also believe the GT's are not hot cake items like the Automatics in Quebec and they wanna sell these cars quick
Finally, (waiting for this for a long time), I can post all the details...Here's my story:Ordered: July 15Have a built date from GM: at the beginning of September ( they said to me week of October 28 or maybe 2 weeks later )Real built date: November 1Arrived at my dealership: November 20Took delivery: November 22Total waiting time: 18 weeks (if I count well) or a little more than 4 months.Hope this will help those who want to have an idea about time it takes in CANADA...
