Holy crap! A V8 Mallett/Solstice with cargo space!!!Where do I order the conversion kit???Of course, now that the word is out, Toyota will probably have a TRD 750 hp NASCAR-V8 Matrix out by spring.

Kinda sucks that I missed all of that, if I would have known the meet would have been worth going to, I may have put in a tiny bit of effort to get there this year. But there's always Columbus, I'll definitely be there.I got there about noon and stayed until only about 12:30. That super-powered Vibe wasn't there and I don't think anybody even knew it was coming. Not many people and Vibes there at all. How long does it take to look at, maybe, seven Vibes? I only live twenty minutes away from that place and, quite frankly, driving for hundreds of miles for that would have resulted in lots of slapping myself upside the head.Besides, Flint had a great car show with hundreds of classic cars at the same time. Now that was a great show. Many pats on the back to those guys who work so hard to make this successful.

Well, I guess to be nice, and I think everyone kinda knows already, the V8 Vibe was just mentioned for fun. It doesn't exist. I was surprised everyone carried it out this long... As far as going to the rallies, it's apparent everyone gets something different out of these things. Ultimately the rallies are held for Vibe owners (and GenVibe members, new and old) to meet up, talk Vibe, or whatever, look over other Vibes, get ideas, ask questions, etc. Some people don't like to be there all day, which is fine, others like to spend the day enjoying the sights and talking with all the cool Vibe people (that's what I like to do).I must say, that even though this was the lowest Michigan turnout to date, I think I had the most fun this time than ever before. We could hold these things at a generic parking lot with no free food, no drinks, no GM reps (which I must say were fantastic), etc. All of these things are just perks to going and we try to make as many of these items available at every meet. I'd still go (and have before) to rallies with none of these immenities and drive 500 miles too! I (and I know there are plenty others) that would do this without hesitation. To each their own. nitrovibegt did make the longest treck (from CT), so he wins the "farthest drive award"! With that said, it was a pleasure hanging out with everyone that had attended and I wish more could have made it. No hard feelings, everyone has their own lives so no issue there. I hope to see more at the next meet (think Ohio)!

GM didn't send anything. boy sure had you guys going though. and we don't want any 20/20 hindsights like:"I knew it all along" or "you can't fool me" LOL it won't work. there was a nice lookin Nissan Z, and Freestyles new Maxima

Yeah, it was a cheap shot that apparently fooled several of us.Quote, originally posted by scherry2 »there was a nice lookin Nissan Z, and Freestyles new MaximaIt's interesting that you don't mention seeing any nice looking Vibes being at this Vibe meet. I gotta give credit to whomever had the dark blue Vibe, but the rest were ho-hum. Sorry.I realize this meet is for die-hard Vibe fans. I'm one. But to call it a super meet is going a bit far.

But to call it a super meet is going a bit far.Gathering from the initial Head Count thread, there was potential for this event being another "Super" meet, but alas technically it wasn't "Super" if you just count the number of Vibes present. It was unfortunate that more Michigan-ites couldn't attend. If it wasn't for the out-of-state'ers it would have been pretty dismal. In 'my' opinion, i would still consider this a "Super" meet, but that is in my own eyes and based on other circumstances! Hope, we counted about 9 Vibes total that showed up I believe after all was said and done throughout the day. On the other hand, the actual amount of people walking around and having a good time was much higher when you include the people with their families, friends, GM reps and their family, dealer personnel, etc... was quite fun!To an extent, I didn't think some of the comments in this thread would come across as harsh as they have, but I'm not losing any sleep over it!
Quote, originally posted by Houston »It's interesting that you don't mention seeing any nice looking Vibes being at this Vibe meet. well didn't want to blow my own horn, but..... especially with the rear ( free GM issue) mat that Nitrovibe said I should take when they drew my number.
HAHA! For a minute I thought I said LS1 Solstice but I forgot I said Vibe so I almost ruined the joke.Yeah I suggested opening it up to Matrix/Celica/Scion owners and all that because of the low turnout. People I think are too lazy to come out of the house. God forbid you take a few hours from one Saturday out of hte year off of work j/k, why you did not come is your own buisness. Interest is falling so we need people to stay faithful. Thinking "I'm not driving that far if there are only a few people coming" is not good either because if you're thinking that than garenteed someone else is thinking the same thing but if everyone that is thinking that DOES take a chance and go, than that's all that many people that will be there making it more populated. BUT that's ok it was still a blast

I'd definitely have to stay home for that one. lolAnd youse guys are mean for that V8 crap. To think, I tried to defend those who were trying to pull crap over on us by attempting to keep you out of the already overworked legal system. Gee, thanks youse guys!

I wanted to take a Sec and say THANKY YOU to all those involved in setting up the meet. I had a Blast, again. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. Even though there was a lower turnout this year, I felt it was more "Personal" so to speak. I love meeting up with other VIBE owners and BS'ing about our Cars no matter HOW many people were there. Thanks again to those that coordinated the meet and a BIG thanks to those that did manage to come out for the Meet.FYI - I will be planning another Mini Meet here in Cincinnati probably in October - Watch the Ohio Region for Details.
Man I'm sorry I missed it.I had a campout that has been planned for about a year. My boys come first. I think I'll be able yo go to Ohio's meet though. Can't wait. I would have loved to see the GT with Nitro. Fun Fun.
Camping is fun so that's a valid excuse I was suposed to go 4th of july weekend but all my friends are bums and cant get any spare money to road trip soooo
