as of yesterday gas here was 3.48. That doesnt seem so bad compared to the prices in other parts of the US. Not sure if its gone up today, I havnt been by a gas station yet.

This afternoon I take a walk on my lunch break and see that gas is now going for $3.68 a gallon for 87 octane here on the Kentucky side. I had good timing... It really sucks when you think anything less than $3.50 is a good deal.

As of this morning, the cheapest gas I saw on US 1 was $3.25 for regular. But look on the bright side - I was in the Netherlands last month and gas was going for €1.46 per liter which is almost $9/gal!
$3.399/gallon US today in southern MD.I keep track of every fillup, so far I have spent over $10K in gas for my Vibe, almost 4700 gallons, average price is on the order of $2.16, but that average goes up every fillup anymore. Overall average MPGs is 35.85the pic is what I've paid, in US $/gallon, over the last 64 months
Filled up for $3.59 at Meijer today. The going rate at Speedway is $3.75 right now. And on the news this evening, a reporter was doing a story on this subject standing in front of a station charging $3.89 a gallon.

While riding by on the bus (I get to take a ferry service-which I LOVE- on my "normal shift" day, and the boat ride includes a transfer on the bus to my city) the sign today (4/30/08) said $3.95!!!!!
Today (5/3) driving by it was $3.97.I still have some left in the tank, but figure I might as well go tomorrow before it gets rounded up to $4 to save a few cents while I can!
socal4.09 for premiumhighest its been this week was 4.19... (removed)!

Columbus, OH East Side BP 3.599 Shell 3.599.Some one said they (assuming the govt) better cap it. Bad idea - would return to the gas lines/shortages of the early 70's.Another lamented the $$$ we are sending to our enemies - well they are sending us something (oil) we must think is worth the price and now that they know we will pay $120 a barrel for oil there is no looking back. We knew over 30 years ago that oil was going to get tight - but we opted to drain an Alaskan oil field at $20 when today it would be worth 6 times that. How smart is that! Our government also did little to change the behavior of U.S. auto buyers - Clinton's proposed 50 cent gas tax would have been a positive step.

Clintons proposed tax? I know from working in the same industry we have more than is lead to believe, just hard to get certain groups to accept the Idea of drilling in an unconventional way, and in areas that are wildlife sanctuaries. I'm not going to say either way. I hate the gas prices, but its also what keeps my industry going..its a nasty double edge sword.
$4.09 at my office in Norwalk 20 miles from NYC$3.93 at my house in Milford about 45 miles from NYCThat is for 87 Octance 5/12/08. So when you see the nat'nl average at $3.72 I laugh cause we are ALWAYS higher.AZ, I'll take your $3.63. Haven't seen that price in about a month and a half.Let's also point out the difference. At $3 a gallon and ten gallons your paying $30. At $4 your paying $40, so a $10 jump, easy math. Well if you fill up say 3 times every two weeks (like I do). Then that is 78 times a year I am at the pump. That equates to $780 more a year. Spaced out that is:$65 a month$16.25 per week$2.32 a daySo in the BIG picture it is not a really really huge hit. But you also have to think that the actual number is the big factor here. Seeing the number 4 is such a psychological barrier for people. Put in the savings if you can find them.Instead of $4 you spend $3.97 at the place across the street, you save $.03 a gallon. So $.30 per tank. Same math as above your savings are:$23.40 per year$1.95 per month$.49 per week$.07 a dayThat is all you save.
Whelan, I'm like you...I fill up maybe 3 times a month.. so I'm paying $20-$30/month more than I did a year ago..I've also gone to the bars about 1-2 less per month... I'm sure that I spent at least $20-30 at the bar EACH time... so already i'm doing better...now...go back to when you were paying $1/g... you've now quadrupled your costs.. that's a big difference..
Well I am 6 times a month, not 3 but I see your point. When I started driving 10 years ago (17 house rule). I was paying like $1.09 a gallon. $5-10 would fill or get you a good half a tank. That price difference is crazy.I also want to point out the benefits of driving slower. I did install that S/C intake tube, but I also am driving much slower nowadays to compensate for fuel costs. The savings are very noticeable. Instead of getting 223 per tank, I am now averaging 280 per tank in an AWD Trix. Not shabby, filling 10 gallons from light on to full so that's equateably to 28mpg city/traffic/highway mixed throughout the week. For that car, that is amazing mileage I think.

Have not looked at the price of gas in a couple of weeks, been riding my monster Kawi 250r to work. I put 4 gallons in it about 2 weeks ago and it was $3.57 then.Gonna try to take my mountain bike to work Friday. 13 miles, lots of hills and I have to leave home around 5 am, or so, to get there by 6 am. Should be interesting.Drive easy.

It's $3.95-$3.99 here for 87. I'm milking my lil' car for all it's worth on this tank, that's for sure. Haven't filled up since the 5th and I still have several more days of fuel left, w00t!

got gas this morning for 3.84. Went by around 1 or 2 and it was up to 3.95. My total today was 39.60 something. It'll definitely be over 40 next time... unless i dont let it go below half a tank. this last tank my mileage was only about 30-31 mpg. i had lots of short trips. i hate those they really kill my gas mileage.
Columbus, OH - my near East side area - up 10 cents to $3.899 for 87 from yesterday. We have been trying to limit driving not so much for the cost as to do our part to reduce demand. We don't go as far to eat out - actually eating out less often. Rarely shop at Meijers Supermarket anymore as it is too far - also half the stuff they advertise they are out of anyway. We can pretty much find almost everything we need within a 2 mi radius. Wal-Mart opened 1.5 mile away -not a big fan of Wal-Mart but comes in handy.

arrgh! 3.87, cost me $34.19 for 8.8 gallons in the Hyundai. that's nuts!Since I managed to bump my mileage up, in the end I still ended up paying only $0.10/mile to drive the thing... Which is what I was paying when I was gettling a few MPG less when gas was cheaper. Gee, bonus, right?

and we're paying $4.10/gal for 87 oct where we drill for the crude oil! I haven't filled up yet... but I'm scared to. going to go back to my 90 pump gas map vs the Torco map. Next weds I'm heading to the track, so hopefully this tank will get me thru until then.
$47? Is that from dead empty. Oh, you also don't have an AWD. The AWD tank is only just under 12 gallons. I usually put in about 10 each fillup right as the light comes on.
Makes sense then.Gas where I work closer to NYC is now $4.19 for 87. Which means back home 25 miles up along the coast in CT it is probably just passed the $4 mark
