Dang 55.2% win ratio? If I lose a race I restart it lol. 99.0% cause I abandoned two races cause I had on the wrong tires and such... they count that as a loss... so much for 100% lol

Quote, originally posted by Shadow-Vibe »Holy Cow!! I must not have a life because I'm over 55% and can't beat the last race in professional. But after 50% you get a really cool Jaguar race car, come on guys play some more!!46.3% now and just finished that last 10 Race championship in Professional and unlocked the Extreme section. Dude that last race is hard. They say "No tire restrictions, no car restrictions." But unless your driving in that 92' Nissan R92CP race car... GOOD LUCK! I had to fully tune up my Audi R8 Race car to the max, adjust the gear ratio so I could take off fast yet get to high speeds in top gear. Nothing like trying to fly across the straight stretch at 250MPH. I was up against that 92' Nissan which was glued to my (removed) the whole time. I would do the practice to get a good pole position, then race the course in A-spec if I felt pretty confident from the practice run, or B-spec it if I was not sure. I ended up about 50/50 of the 10 races that way. There was another Nissan race car I was up against and a Toyota, a Gillet and a Mercedes CKL-GTR Race car.The Extreme Events are all IA or Super license courses. I did the Super license race Like The Wind which is five laps around the Driving Park. You better have a fast car for that to. Been going through the Special Conditions Events for some easy money and stuff to help on spending so much money for a fast car.

I have 6 more endurance races to do. The three 24h ones and three other tracks, one a 9 hour and the others are just for certain number of laps. I'm thinking tomorrow morning B-spec one of the 24 hour ones and it will be done the next day at that time. To bad though it doesn't do 24 hours with light and darkness, that would be cool. Le Mans 24 game on the PC did that.

Congrats on the professional finish. I tried selling all of my cars that I could get money for and purchase that Nissan Race car, sold everything and came out with 9,000,000 in cash and at 65.8%. Then I purchased the Nissan car and in the middle of saving it the DAMN memory card froze up and I lost everything!!!!!!!!! Now I have to restart everything so you guys are way ahead of me!!!
Well if your card froze... did it wipe everything off or could you reload from your last save and sell off all your cars again? Though sometimes not always having a fast car will win you the race. Currently doing the 8 hour endurance and am up against hondas and fairlady Z cars and I'm in my Audi R8. Smoking them of course but got the car set to cruise B-spec cause its to fast on some corners, going off track.

No, I tried to reload and it will flash the memory card like it is loading then it will just freeze. I even tried to copy to another disk and then try and load and nothing. I'm so pissed!!!
Sounds like a corrupt file. Hey you got other saved files on there for other games? Does it work for those? Otherwise your card might be trashed... None of mine ever have.Anyway finished the 8h endurance. started it this morning, left to help Hope's folks with some packing. Came back to see I had won a really cool Black Honda race car. Tomorrow morning I'll start one of the other races. I wanna be home when I do the 24hour ones cause on a few pit stops I'll change the mode from B-spec to A-spec and do a few laps myself.

Yeah I have some other games saved but the work fine. Last night I took my wives memory card and copied it. She only had the B license and a Lupo so I copied hers on to the same disk and it works fine now. So I got up to the 2nd to last race in i-A. I'm going to try and get everything back.
Well just finished the 24h endurance of that huge german track. 24 hours to 206 laps. I did it in my Nissan OPTION Stream Z 04' and came in first naturally. I B-spec moded most of it, probably about 8 laps in A-spec. 2nd place car was lapped 14 times and the 6th place car was lapped 26 times hehe. Won a cool Formula 1 GT4 race car.

GRRRRRrrrrrrrrrr, what is it with the AI cars in the rally section? You can be driving clean, and they bump you, spinning your car into THEM, and you get a 5 sec time-out? They sure as heck don't, they just drive off.....sorry, I'm ranting, but I'm almost to the point that I might think GT4 sucks....you watch the AI cars slam walls, and hit stuff, if you even brush against it in the tiniest bit, there goes another 5 sec delay....And another thing.....have you ever ran a race (say the next to last series of professional) and you can't run the car that usually wins all the races (ie Caddilac Cien is not an eligable car for you to play, but it's in the dang race!)The inequallity kinda blows, and detracts from a very good (but not excellent) racing game.

I agree. There is the one race were you have to race North American Production Cars only in the professional events(I think) I ended up doing it in a 1000HP+ Viper of mine. I have the Cadi CIEN and I saw it racing in the preview you can do which I originally tried to use but its not a Production Car.And yeah I'm not really doing much of those rally events. I find if you hit front end, or slide sideways into something then you get a 5 sec delay. Wanna know what pisses me off? Rally is about power sliding through corners and all that cool stuff but if you do that, your race times are SLOW and the competition wins even if they are in a POS against your car. And whats funny is unlike you, they stick to a smooth race line through the whole rally course while your sliding all over the place.I'm currently over 50% complete now and my PS2 is about 8 hours into the last endurance race I have left and its a 24 hour race, should be done by about noon tomorrow.Talking of FUNNY AI of the other drivers. Was doing the 10 race championship at the end of the Professional Events, you race 20 laps around one track. One of the cars wanted to pit in for new tires or something and overshot the pit lane. So it was still there driving into the wall after I went by 3 times lol.

Actually I found out that if you hit the walls with the rear end of the car you will not get hit by the 5 second rule. So just race like your drifting and you should be good. I'm back to 10% by the way!!
Depends on how hard you hit....if you just brush the wall, you won't get the penalty, but if you hit the wall hard enough to upset the suspension (or in reality SET the suspension, because thats why you hit the wall in GT3, to slow the car down, and settle the suspension).

Check out http://www.ign.com go to Playstation 2 section and click on cheats. Now those cheats don't mean hitting a bunch of buttons and spawning some rides, its basicly tips on which races get you loads of cash and cool cars. Even has a list of what car you win for completing each series of races from manufacture ones to event ones. Could help you get your way back up through the game. With 2 hours to go in my 24 hour endurance race, I'm 413 laps completed, second place car is -20 laps behind hehe. I think I got this one in the bag.

I ran the Subaru 360 race. You can only buy the car new for $36,000, it's good for ONE 3 lap race. You have to spend at least $30,000 to be competitive. $66k, right? and what do you win? A LM Legacy? NOPE, you win a special color 1958 Subaru 360! Big freaking deal....and the car you just spend $66k on? You can sell it for a whopping $5,000. I don't want to run a series to win the damn car I just spent a freaking fortune on just to win another POS, I want to win something (a) worth the effort (b) worth the money I have to spend to be competive (c) something historic, but more valuable than what I just ran......is that too much to ask???? *Rant Ends*

Ok sorry if i missed this in the thread already but im new to this forum. There is a way to play this online if you have a network adapter, no hard drive is needed. there is a program called Xlink Kai Evolution VII. Since the game uses "network" mode its able to utilize that and play online through this program, but you need your pc and ps2 on the same router OR have your ps2 with a cross over cable into the pc.

GT3 had a wheel but the wheel designed for GT4 is 100% better.I've used the wheel more then twice. Actually the most I use it for is the rally racing which I have completed most of those.
