Looks like a great location! I'll block off that date. We've got a Weber Q300 that fit really well in our car if you guys want a grill (have to figure out how that will fit with a passenger and a suitcase in the car, lol)

There is actually a GFS at the corner of 96th & Masters (first turn off of 96th St) if we do some grilling out.

I think it will too, especially because I'm the Tetris Master of packing cars. The Q300 is pretty big so we probably only need one other grill if we want to do a cookout: http://bbq.about.com/od/portab...b.htm We used it for the Chicago meetup and it was way more than enough for the small group of us (though I'm not going to be bringing that 8 foot table with me this time LOL).

I might be able to provide a table or two. I'll know for sure this weekend though.

It would probably be helpful if some of the "more local" Vibers could arrange to bring the heavier/larger items (tables, chairs, tents, etc) which will free us travelers up for other more important stuff (luggage possibly). Assuming I come alone, I can bring a small 4' or 6' table & 4 chairs ANd a 6' step ladder You may wonder why we would need a step ladder for such a meet??? This will allow us to get better "aerial" group shots of us Vibers attending If some of these numbers (potential attendance) materializes, we could be looking at a good size group, and photos from "slightly above" look much better than at ground level

I was def scratching my head about the step ladder. I'm going to try and have 2 either 6 or 8 foot tables (not sure which they are) but I've gotta check with my parents this weekend though. I think I may have some folding chairs, but I'll have to look tomorrow night. I'll get an update this weekend as to what I will be able to help out with AFA stuff like that is concerned.

Time-of-day is becoming an important topic, so when should we have our meet (with the intention of it being the 17th of July)? This will greatly affect people's plans, and I want to get a consensus.Later in the afternoon? With Sahm's Park having a pool, and our meet in the middle of July, it might be kinda busy from 11-3 with families. Do we shoot for 3 or 3:30, so that gives people time to show up and chat for awhile. After awhile, we could get the grills going for some dinner...Or, we can try a lunch gathering, then talk all-things-Vibe during/after eating. Those of us driving from a longer distance, what would you rather do? Giving ourselves time to get all the bugs and dirt off the Vibes beforehand, of course.I'm envisioning a lot of hotel parking lot detailing...

If it is earlier in the day I would probably drive down the day before or at least to Chicago stay the night, then hook up with that group to go the rest of the way on Saturday. If it was later I might just get up early on Saturday and do it in one shot. I'll wait until a time is chosen before deciding what to do.Maybe somone can scout local car washes near the park. My Vibe would definitely need a good washing after the trip down.

As an Illinoisian I vote for a mid-afternoon start with a dinner meal type thing in the middle, and possible later hangouts at fun places after dark. Those of us coming from west of Indiana have to deal with the stupid time change so we have to leave extra early, plus we need time to re-wash the cars when we arrive. Just my $0.02

July 17th is fine by me. The park looks great. The area sounds great. I am thinking more and more I might just head out after work Friday and stay Friday and Saturday nights. A car wash will be a necessity for sure. I have four folding chairs I can bring, plus a few camping chairs.

Perhaps 4 p.m. Eastern Time sounds better? Everybody should have their fair share of wash/detail lead-in time after long drives. I'd start a poll, but that would have to be a secondary thread. It's nice keeping all the info in one spot. But, if there's enough support for one, I can start one.Oh, and I can vouch for Mike's Car Wash, 5 years ago at least. My folks lived in Indy for awhile, and pops liked Mike's a lot.

Merzbow (a "maybe")Please post if I've forgotten anyone. Well, so far it looks like we have one grill (Ponta2147) and multiple tables (jkm311, Wolfman213, A Psycho Martyr, tpollauf). It would be great if one other person could provide a grill. Two should suffice. And as tpollauf suggested, could some Indy natives look into chairs/2nd grill. That would help out-of-state travelers a bunch. I think Wolfman was checking on his chair situation. Sounds like Wolfman's suggestion of: GFS at the corner of 96th & Masters (first turn off of 96th St) works for buying meat/grilling supplies, etc. I'll be sure to pack plates, forks, cups, etc. We've made some nice progress putting this together thus far! Thank you for everyone's input, suggestions, etc. Couldn't have done it with out ya.

Throw me down at the bottom of the list with the rest of the "maybes". If I do show, I'm gonna feel kinda out of place since I don't have my Vibe anymore (she's gone as of yesterday evening). On the other hand, it may be a good place to sell off all my aftermarket stuff from the Vibe that I'm trying to get rid of.

Here's a link with all the prices for rooms with a check in date of Friday July 16th and a check out date of Sunday July 18th.The Super 8 in Castleton is looking like the closest and cheapest as of right now.I definitely think all of us who will be staying over should stay at the same place. It would make for some great parking lot pictures . Perhaps a local could go check the area around the Super 8 for parking, safety, etc?

Another Option: The Days Inn - Castleton is as low as $39.99 +tax per night. - It is .88 miles from Sahm Parkhttp://visitindy.com/indianapo...tailshttp://www.daysinn.com/DaysInn...=tab2Yeah, is there anyone local that can check out some of these hotels near the park?
