I dont buy car alarms, when I park it overnight my last car, a Swift, Id pull the cable from the distributor cap to the condenser and that puppy wasnt going anywhere soon! Especially if I leave parked away from home for several days unattended. But uh-oh, the Vibe doesnt use this so what if I where to pull a simple fuse, maybe for the fuel pump, preferably in the cabin for the ease and less chance humidity to seep in, I could simply place the tiny thing somewhere within easy reach out of sight - out of mind. The schematic in my manual has numerous fuel pump fuses so that complicates it for me. Any suggestions?
Look on the back of the "cup" in front of the fuse holder, it should have a guide for what's what... You can always pull the fuse and try to see if it worked... Why no alarms..
Thanx I will check it out.Im cheap, bought base model, was already forced to pay $400 for glass etch w/sticker, i guess theres a GPS tracker inside already as well as an engine immobilizer, a blinking red light on the dash when the keys are out, stock stereo, did I mention Im cheap? LOL
I hope the fuse in the 09's are in a different spot than the older ones. I have to lay my drivers seat all the way back and lay on the floor with my head under the dash and my feet up by the head rest, it's in an awful spot haha.

Maybe if the alarm could send a text message to your phone, but by the time you get the message and get out to your car, the damage is done.

I like my alarm and it does its job well. If it annoys other people when it goes off it is doing its job. My alarm also never has false alarms because I have the sensitivity set correctly, meaning if a semi or a Harley goes by it doesn't even get a pre-warn chirp. The people with improper settings are the people that give alarms a bad reputation. Why not just wire in a relay to the factory security wiring to open the fuel pump circuit?Something like these would workThe first diagram you could tie into any device in the car, just substitute the starter connections for the fuel pump.you could still use the lock and unlock from the factory remote but you would need 2 more relays to isolate the lock wires so they didn't back feed. Just a thought to ease the thought of removing the fuse every time. Aron
Vibe is gone and will be missed as I've gone country style
why not just buy something like this.I had something like this on a pickup years ago. Worked great. got it from jcwhitney back then though for about the same price.http://cgi.ebay.com/CAR-MOTORC...34de2o ... re...m%3D1

I seem to remeber a couple of passive devices that ford was using, at least some ford dealers were, several years ago. One was a starter interupt that you had to do something like flash the high beams or honk the horn before the vehicle would start. the other was a plug like cap thing that had to be pluged in usually just under the dash that allowed the vehicle to start and if it was not in place then your car is not going anyplace without a tow truck.
