Re: Leaking Sunroof...Common Issue? (dmitri)

They say its a normal issue for the vibes apperently and that any adjustments they make could just make the problem worse. I'd prolly go back and get a manager involved but I leave shortly for Air Force Basic Training so it'll have to wait till after I get back.

Re: Milage question (pwarren4)

I've been averaging about 32MPG. I've had as high as 38MPG from road trips and as low as 23MPG when I lead foot it all week or play with it on the freeway with Overdrive Off.

Re: How long does it take you to wash your Vibe? (michaelgt)

Takes me about a day to properly clean/wax mine. I use Zymol cleaners/waxes which can take longer to apply if you use it like they want you to. They combine the cleaner/polish cream into one application they you let set for a few minutes before buffing off on each section....then the real fun begins...

Re: Leaking Sunroof...Common Issue? (smartin53)

Grrrrr the dealership I took it too uses some external company and the guy they brought in looked at it and they drug me back to say how there wasn't anything he could do to fix it. I just said ok and left rather than argue the point but since this doesn't seem to be happening to everyone I'm still ...

Re: Almost traded in the Vibe!!! (cool vibes)

I have to admit even though I own a Vibe now I am still a huge VW fan and eventually will prolly go back to one. I've owned two New Beetles (a GL Base and eventually a 1.8T Yellow Color Concept limited edition). They are very reliable in my opinion. I'm actually the only person in my family NOT to o...

Re: Paint Issues - Who has problems and who doesn't (silverawd26)

Possibly one of the best paint jobs I saw were on the two New Beetles I owned before the vibe. I had owned each one a year an a half (yea I trade up often) and the first had no chips, I managed to get a good chip down to the primer on the second when a half dollar sized rock came off a quary truck a...

Leaking Sunroof...Common Issue?

I know this has been discussed in a limited fashion but I wanted to get a new opinion on this. How many people have had issues with a leaking sunroof on their Vibes and how many times did it take to get it fixed? I have a rather badly leaking sunroof thats gotten worse over time. I took it into the ...

Re: almost took the wrong vibe :O (micheles_bad_vibe)

I happened to hop right into an unlocked one once. It was a two tone blue vibe just like mine. I only noticed when I jumped in and felt like I fell back because whoever's it was had the seat set as low as it could be set and it was too far back (I'm a small guy so just about any car is like that). B...

I've had several cars but this is the first one I took the chance on and did it myself. Its very easy. Especially with the instructions posted on this forum.

Hubcap Cost?

I was wondering if anyone knew what the price was on replacement hubcaps for the base vibe with steel wheels. For some reason EVERY time I visit Washington DC (as I just did this weekend) I manage to hut a curb and scratch up my right front tire. Always in the same parking area too (avoid parking on...

Predered time of Oil Change

Prior to owning my vibe I've owned a VW New Beetle for the last 2 years. On the beetle they recommened an oil change every 5000 miles. Now on the Pontiac info they have 2 options. Heavy - 3000 mile oil changes and Freeway/Light 7000 oil changed. Now I have to admit I fall more in the Freeway driver ...

Re: Max Front speaker depth (cohocarl)

I know the general word is that 2-5/16" depth is the norm for the front speakers but could 2.5" depth speakers fit also? I'm looking at some JBL midbrange speakers and want to see if they fit. Thanks.

Re: Alternative Keyless Entry Remotes? (silverawd26)

I dunno, I'm sure its fine but I'm used to something a bit more rugged. I'm just afraid I'm gonna drop it and screw it up. BTW I found something interesting on ebay that sorta relates to what I've been looking for. Now I just gotta figure out a rig to get the guts of the remote working in this thing...

Right, but are there any that would be GM/Toyota Compattible. Sorta like Aftermarket replacements for OEM stuff thats just better. I feel like I'm gonna break this thing when I open my car.

Alternative Keyless Entry Remotes?

OK, Here's a fun question. Are there any other Keyless Entry Remotes that work with the vibe that are cooler/better built than the one it comes with? I have to admit I'm a tad spoiled since I've owned a new beetle for the last 2years prior to getting the vibe. VW/Audi/etc have the cool remotes with ...

Re: Max Front speaker depth (NovaResource)

Cool thanks, I did run a search but must have missed that one. Got another question now. Sort of a placement/preference question. I have a set of Kenwood KFC-1677 speakers and and considering getting either the Kenwood Excelon KFC-XR601 or KFC-X168 speakers. Question is which should I get and which ...

Max Front speaker depth

OK, quick question. Whats the max depth that the fron speakers can be. I want to make sure I don't buy anything too deep. Also do you need the plastic ring thats on the factory speakers to make it fit properly? Thanks.
