Mileage that I have got recently

The best mileage I have had, mostly highway and using the cruise control, is about 37 mpg. (Imperial). In the city it is about 28. Not bad, a lot better than my Montana ever got. Nothing else I can do to increase mileage, maybe it will be better in summer. It can certainly change when you stop the g...

Re: Cross bars on 2009 Vibe (CanadaUK)

I took my Vibe to the dealer and they are bolted in. It would be a lot better if you were able to slid them forward. I want to put a cargo bag up on the roof, not sure if I will be able to do that. Has anyone tried to put a cargo bag on their 2009 Vibe?

Cross bars on 2009 Vibe

Does anyone know if it is possible to adjust the crossbar? I would like to install a cargo bag and I need to move the crossbars so they are about 41 inches apart

I went back to a dealer, who said my Vibe does not have the block heater. I would have thought it would be standard on all Canadian sold cars. Canadian Tire wants $47 for the part. It should only take about 30 minutes to install it, so maybe $100 altogether. Still, worth it.

Block Heater

I cannot find the cord for the block heater in my 2009 Base, 1.8 L Vibe. Surely being in Canada they would have put one in? Any suggestions out there where to look? I looked beside the battery and behind driver's headlamp, no luck!

I also hope they get their act together and survive. A lot of workers in both the US and Canada depend on them. Hopefully they will take care of the customers, if and when the problems show up in their cars. I got burned by GM and their head gaskets in their 3.4 engines that they pretended did not e...

End of an era, perhaps. But if we were honest, they have no one to blame, but themselves. The only reason I bought a Vibe is BECAUSE it was made by Toyota. I owned a 2002 Pontiac Montana that was a piece of junk, 3 head gaskets, three a/c condenser, fuel injectors replaced Toyota. It died on the sid...

Perhaps, it is my new snow tires, that is making it ride harder. If I take it back to the dealer can they make any adjustments, under warranty? Just a thought. I am use to riding a mini van. I seldom felt any bumps in the van.

I have 1.8 L. 2009 base Vibe. Great car, but with 4 adults in it you feel every bump. Any thoughts on upgrades on shocks or suspension that will not be too expensive?

By using cruise control, at 80-100KM's per hour, I got 36 miles per Imperial Gallon or 180 KM's from 14 litres of gas. Cannot think I will better that, car has 30,000 KM's on it, with new tires and just had oil change. Nothing left to change...It gets confusing when comparing litres/km's, imperial a...

I have got the 1.8, with automatic and have got 29 mpg (imperial) for combined city and driving and 36 mpg for hwy. using cruise control. There might be some people comparing imperial mpg to US mpg gallon. Remember the Imperial gallon is about 20% bigger. I thought 36 mpg was great, way better than ...
