Good for you. I didn't want to chance anything. So I followed the procedure (plus some steps so I could complete stuff). The vibe must have more parts than the Matrix, as there are three bolts in our alternators (the two mentioned, plus a third on the top).

I think so.At city speeds it heats up quickly. But as soon as I got on the highway this morning, the temperature dropped, but not all the way down. It then came partway back up as I drove the 10 miles on the highway. I'm hoping the car is "relearning" how to drive and that it will all work...

My Vibe has only had its oil changed by me. AutoZone also takes used oil for free.I used to use Quaker State, but now use Castrol GTX (and the numbers are 5W-30 )

Well, I did the modification to the factory stereo shown Here. Anyone need some Vibe aftermarket parts? $20 for the harness (no antenna) and the mount kit, another $10 for the amp matching circuit.

Here is the cable routing as it leaves the radio. You can see that it is a straight shot.(NOTE - I drilled the hole too high, I ended up with the cable wedged pretty tight against a bundle of wires behind the radio)

I soldered directly to the test points on the board for the output of the CD audio (and the audio common) to my mechanical switch plug (Radio Shack 274-246). I then came back with the left and right audio to the cut side of pins 1 and 3. I soldered my shield braid and cable to the piece of the case ...

You didn't need to probe with headphones. If you look at the circuit board at the large blobs of solder, those are the test points . They are all labled. Pin 1 is LCHA (Left Channel Audio), Pin 2 is AGND (Audio Ground), and Pin 3 is RCHA (Right Channel Audio). I think I will tie into Audio Ground as...

I picked up the closed circuit 1/8" jack that was suggested, and once I find some shielded wire, I will be attempting this on my 03 six-disc changer. I will have pictures.

You have to unbolt it. I had to take the battery and the airbox out so that I could flip over the fuse box and unbolt it. By the way, the bolts are two different sizes (go figure) I will attach some pictures this evening. I'm off to autozone to buy the part (hopefully they have it).Anyone have an id...

Well, it went away all summer, but now is back. I am going to change the thing soon. I have never messed with belts. If I remove the alternator, will I have to re-tighten the belts?

OK, I bought a new thermistate, and I can't find the one in the car .Someone with a service manual, HELP. I followed the top radiator line to the engine, but couldn't find where the thermistate is.
