Re: Pedal fix

Pedal fix update ....Well, now that I've been driving it for awhile I certainly don't think the pedal fix changed anything fundamentally. If you drive it hard it still acts the same but the fix has made driving it a smoother affair for me. If you drive it in a conservative manner it feels more like ...

Re: (trask)

We got our Vibe done before the official notice arrived too. One reason we insisted on this was because our Vibe was plagued with the jerky acceleration syndrome that no has been able to fix.I wasn't expecting there to be any difference from the fix ..... but ..... there was!Off the line and otherwi...

So ... we've had the Toyota gas pedal fix done to our Vibe.I wasn't expecting there to be any difference ..... but ..... there was!Off the line and otherwise it feels like a normal car now not that there still doesn't appear to be dead spots with the auto tranny where it will lag but its much smooth...

Re: Toyota recalls 2.3 million vehicle including the 09-10 Corolla and Matrix (trask)

We just talked with our GM dealer and they've taken the car(were willing to tow it in!) and we have a loaner now till this gets resolved. We only have 5000 kilometers on it by the way.Just heard on the news that the Secretary of Transportation, Ray Lahood, is looking into this Toyota pedal fix but h...

Re: jerky acceleration (bryan59)

Just heard on the news that the Secretary of Transportation, Ray Lahood, is looking into this Toyota pedal fix but he also mentioned looking into the electronic side of the issues. This could be helpful in what we're all saying here about the drive ability issues with the Vibe

Well..... got them installed as planned. This was the cheapest part of this little trip ... $67 ...I'd say in terms of ride comfort though that there is some 50% improvement! ... Haven't had any ice/snow conditions to test em out on yet though .... just plenty of rain and cool temps ....... typical ...

Re: (Ivibe)

I have this drive ability issue too but the 010A TSB had no effect on this part though the car did feel a little different from before. We went the CAMVAP route .. primarily for the hard down shifting issue which unfortunately cleared itself just before the hearing, grrr ...A GM rep drove our car and...

So .... this downshifting issue was a problem with our 2009 Vibe GT. By 3000 km it fixed itself. But we did have the new 010A TSB done to it anyways ..... for good measure.

Re: GT air filter breathing (J_TO_ENVY)

I asked my OEM service dealer about this and this was his reply:The air intake system change you are considering at this time would be ill advised. There are quite a few reasons why. Here is a short list:1.The engine control module is not calibrated to the air flow that the new system would let in.2...

Well ...... I bought some Michelin x-ic2/Xi2 today from Costco.Must say it was hard tracking down a set of 205/60r16s!! They were $169.99 each. The total including taxes came to $722.56 after using the Michelin $60 off coupon. So ... now I need to find wheels. Canadian tire has them for $60 steelies,...

Re: GT air filter breathing (bryan59)

I had a look at the pdf and it does look well detailed. The pictures I guess are from a Toyota Matrix. GT air filter breathing

We just had our dealer perform the updated TSB: 09-07-30-010A.Not sure if its helped or not as the heavy downshifting stopped about 2 weeks prior at just below 3000Km.In any event the other driveability issues to do with jerky acceleration or a turbo like lag seem some what lesser too. I am not inte...

Well .... I can attest to this trait. We seemed to be plagued by that STB 09-07-30-010But this hasn't done it since we've reached 3000Km or so.Had the dealer do that PCM reprogram but don't really notice any difference. This isn't something thats just happened either its been problematical since we b...

Re: Winter Tires and more (bryan59)

The 205/60/16 sound fine to me for the Snow tires. But if I spend a few $$ more on rims then I'd like to use them for the summer tires. So is 205/60-16s gonna be ok for summers too? I don't wanna be bouncing down the road after all ... thx

Hey thx for the feedback guys ...That tire calculator says those 205/55-16" are like 2.9% off....So what about 205/60-16" they are within .3%?If I get 4 snows/rims then I don't really need to worry about matching up with the summers.I find the current 18" aren't to bad around here but...

Did some research here and found some suggestions. Like 205/55-16" is pretty much what a standard vehicle uses. The tire calculator suggests that 225/55-16" would be within .5%. One person thought that 17" are a good compromise between softer ride and performance. .... So a 215/50-17&...
