Re: New smaller size of Fram CH10358 oil filter

Thanks Mike for the reply. I've too been thinking that with that spring in the filter housing this smaller filter might work, but I'm sure not anxious to try to find out. If it doesn't fit properly I'll have to put the old filter back in and waste four liters on new oil. I've checked on-line, and lo...

Re: New smaller size of Fram CH10358 oil filter

Here's a photo of the two versions of Fram CH10358. On right, the box from the last oil filter I used. On the left, the box and the filter I've just received.

New smaller size of Fram CH10358 oil filter

I've always changed my own oil using Fram filter CH10358. I've just ordered a couple on-line from a local automotive store. The filters that arrived are Fram and they are marked CH10358 but they are much smaller in size than the old Fram filters of the same number. Anyone know what gives? Has Fram b...

Re: (09vGT)

Thanks. You are right. I just went out, put cruise on and that's the symbol. Must have accidentally hit it when I was coming home. Would be kind of nice if all the warning lights were identified in the manual though.John

What's this warning light?

Yesterday I noticed a small yellow warning light in the 4 o'clock position in the left instrument cluster (tachometer). I searched the manual to find it's significance but can find nothing. Today I took the manual to my local garage and the fellows there searched through it also but could not find a...

Thanks for the reply. The Fram was $7.99 which I'd actually thought was a fairly expensive filter. But I will look for the two you recommend.

Thanks very much for this picture. Wish I had seen something like it earlier. I spent a lot of time on the internet trying to find pictures of the filter and o-ring before I first put mine on. Yesterday after my problem I was able to find an image posted by a user of this chat room. I've looked for ...

Thanks Caretaker. You analyze the situation I faced very well. Unfortunately the Fram instructions say nothing about where the o-ring is to go. I made the mistake you describe. I pushed the o-ring up past the grove so that it abutted the "shelf", as you describe it. I've just installed a n...

Thanks for the reply.Sorry, it is the 1.8 with the paper filter. The filter I put in was a Fram and its box does not have any information suggesting where the o-ring goes. Since posting my initial message I've kept looking through this site a finally saw a photograph someone submitted showing where ...

Hello.I hope I'm replying to the fellow who wrote: "The rubber o-ring goes here" and who supplied a picture of the same.I think I've just screwed up. I changed my oil on my 2009 for the first time a few days ago. Today coming home the oil light went on and when I I got home and looked unde...

Changing the oil filter. What did I do wrong??

Hello,I hope that there is someone there who can help me. I did my first oil change on my 2009 Vibe last week. All seemed to go well. But coming home today the oil light went on and soon there was pinging. Fortunately I was only a few blocks from home. When I looked under the car the oil was spurtin...
