Well, I have my car back. Mechanics could not hear the noise. I know it's there. Seems like humidity and rain stop the noise from happening. Now that it's dry out again, I can hear it. It doesn't happen all the time. They fixed a hub bearing but that defintely wasn't it. My warranty is now expired! ...

Car is still in the shop for the gear box "whining". Of course, they can't reproduce the noise. They did say I had a bad hub bearing and are going to fix that but I know that is not what it is. Just because they can't hear the noise, they won't just check the gear or check to see if a bear...

Re: Whining noise when let off gas at 40-45 mph (mac99d)

I'm sorry, I have an automatic transmission. I guess this problem is driving me crazy! I read that it may be the gearbox bearings? Anyways, still taking it in tomorrow before the warranty runs out in 80 miles!

Whining noise when let off gas at 40-45 mph

As I am driving at 40-45 mph, and i let off the gas, even a little bit, i get this strange quick low pitch whining noise. It doesn't happen all the time but it's a little scary. I searched this topic and don't get much back. I am almost out of warranty and I'm sure they won't be able to reproduce th...

Good to hear that the trannies are reliabe. I'll get the fluid changed this week. The sound has been there for, I would say, about six months. I have another 30,000 on my extended warranty so I was hoping to find out by then what the problem is. I guess I have a couple more years to find out! But, y...

Thanks, I should have mentioned the year. It is a 2006 and it has around 70,000 miles on it. It's an automatic. I have never had the tranny fluid changed either. I will have that checked out and post back. So, even if it never needs added, you still need to change it? I hope that is not a dumb quest...

Strange Noise when lift foot off accelerator

Can anyone please tell me what this might be. When I am going around 45-50mph, and then take my foot off the pedal to slow down, I hear a short whining noise come from the front of my car. It's not high pitched. I'm going on vacation next month and I don't want my transmission to go out or something...

I have this issue. Only in cold weather, below 40, and only the first mile I drive in the morning. Fine the rest of the day and all summer. Recently had my PCM replaced but that didn't help either. Taking it back into the shop.....this has been going on with my car for almost three years!

Intake Manifold Tuning Position Sensor/Switch Circuit Low

My check engine light came on a couple days ago and the code indicates Intake Manifold Tuning Position Sensor/Switch Circuit Low. It's a 2006 and has had some oxygen sensor problems which have been fixed. I don't notice the car running any different. Anyone know what this means? Thank you!
