But also diesel engine can be slow, I have seen diesel engines that take for ever to get to 60 mph!True, but I should have stated earlier that the diesel would be turbocharged and not normally aspired. The chipped TDIs are getting 150hp+ (IIRC I tink some pe...

Re: What would You Have GM Change on Future Vibes? (ColonelPanic)

Re diesel advantages:* Lots of torque, which means you don't need to scream to 6k RPMs to get haulin'. Personally, I'm all about the low-end grunt and stoplight to stoplight vs the highend powerband* Much better fuel economy - I read an article recently, and I forget where it was, but b/co f the way...

Re: Vibe vs. Golf? (silverawd26)

Thanks for all the replies! I just want a TDI Vibe. Eh, I can dream anyhow. The Pasat W8 is pretty sweet, but the price tag is something to be feared.

Small turbocharged diesel. Imagine the torque and fuel economy of a chipped VW 1.9 TDI in one of these!

Vibe vs. Golf?

Have any of you Vibe owners driven/owned/compared your cars against the VW Golfs? Yeah I know the bottom line is I need to test drive them both, possibly mutliple times, but I'm curious about your opinions. How does it compare in comfort, fit, feel, and function? If I were to buy a golf I would most...

Re: Opinions Please - Which one? (Project Shadow)

Thats what I should have addressed a little more in the first post. I was wondering if it would be worth it to wait and get a base for now. I'll have to do a little more research on the s/c - if the base is equipped w/the 4 wheel antilock does that mean that the rear drums are upgraded to discs? I'm...

Re: Opinions Please - Which one? (ichabod)

Thanks everyone! Well if the S/C really only puts the base near the GT model, then if I get one I might as well get the GT from the start and have the bonus of 4 wheel discs and the 6 speed. I need to sell off a few of my current toys before I buy anything, but I really appreciate all of the respons...

Opinions Please - Which one?

Hello all...I've been looking at new cars and keep coming back to the Vibe. Basically I am looking for something fun, economical, and roomy (I'm 6'5+, so roomy is important). I haven't had a chance to take the Vibe for a test drive yet, but for those who have it which model would you suggest? Base, ...
