In your terms, this is a valid question !Also in your terms, you sugested me that I should dump the (10W30) oil right away ! If you want an explanation, latter they call me and told me that 10W30 was a computer miskate (in paper only) but 5W30 was the oil used !

On Highway, engine RPM is aprox from 2500 to 3000. If you compare with ather cars where RPM < 2000, Vibe engine is noisy ! But not too bad !

I have the same car like you, year, even the color. And the same dilema. At 3000 mile I changed the oil and they put in 10W30 (recomanded in 2010 manual). When I saw the receipt was too late. However I believe in manual is a mistake and from now on I will request the oil recomanded on the engine cap .

Hmm, 1.8L is not the same engine in 2009 and 2010 ? It is not 2ZR-FE in both ? Clear, on my Engine Oil Cap say 5W20 or 0W20 and in 2010 Manual 5W30 ! So I believe there is a mistake in 2010 manual.

OK, in your 2009 manual at section 9-10 it say : SAE 5W-20 is best for the vehicle but in my 2010 Manual at section 9-11 it say SAE 5W-30 is the best for the vehicle ! so my dealer used this oil (5W-30) .On my oil cap say use 5W20 or 0W20.

I had the same frustration. At my first oil change, they put 5W30 not the one recomanded on the oil cap ! i wanted to dump the oil but I will put the right one on my next change...

Well, the smell doesn't last too much so it is ok but I was woandering what would cause that. If it is from exhaust then for sure it is front exhaust
