Aquatec seat covers

I saw some "custom" seat covers on autoanythng.com. They were neoprene covers with different color centers.Has anyone had experience with them? I do a lot of mountain biking in the northest and expect an extremely muddy year. Also the had several seat styles, I am not sure what ours are con...

Re: Variable Valve Lift (MadBill)

I think about old school hot rods. If you got a big cam in your small block chevy it would have trouble idling. I have seen street rods that practically shudder at an idle and you can almost hear each piston fire. But when they get up in the rpm's they make big power.I think our cars would run on th...

Re: GT vs Base (NovaResource)

I understand how those bolts hold the rocker shafts from rotating, but why does the variable lift stop working? Does something bind or do you lose oil pressure. From what I read the lift is actuated by oil pressure.I am also wondering what car these parts came out of. I have seen manufacturers make ...

Re: GT vs Base (QUIKAG)

I agree with QUIKAG, you should check out the SAE articles. If you really want to know how different the engines are study these papers. You can find them on MatrixVibe.Net under TechStuff. No one has mentioned that the 2ZZ has different liners?Also-- By no means does a GT "lug" at 80 mph. ...

Actually I had a loose grip on the shifter. The on ramp near my work is under construction and I was checking out the new jersey barriers, not paying close attention to my shifting.

I didn't want to admit this but it was too funny, I thought of this thread immediatly.I was getting on the highway today and ****ed from 2-3 with a littlr too much force. My hand slipped off the top of the shifter and I jammed my thumb on the dash and broke my thumb nail.( Homer "Doh")

A trick I learned from dump truck drivers to get un stuck-fool the axle. When you sense some wheel spin, try feathering the brake pedal. This may work similarly ( is that a real word?) to traction control.I did it in my 93 Altima Se in deep snow. It worked well and got me home. The trick it the brake...

I have got quite a few " how do you like it" and " I'm thinking about getting one" since I got mine on 12/31/03.What I have been noticing is looks everyday by other drivers. Usually at stop lights, they are looking it over to see what it is.

If anyone is interested in how the 2ZZ-GE "high speed engine" was designed. Check out the Toyota-Matrix web site under specifications. It is quite technical, but has a lot of good info. The engine was designed with some help from Yamaha, motorcyles make up for a lack of displacement by inc...

Re: double-clutching (Yoda)

I have been fooling around with my speed shifting to stay over 6000 rpms. I have a mechanical background and you do not need to fully depress the pedal to shift. When you push on the pedal the master cyl pushes on the slave cyl and starts dis-engaging the clutch from the flywheel. If you are driving...

I agree with bellwiliam, Amsoil is not comparing apples to apples. It makes me skeptical when a company does comparisons like this. I strongly suggest testing your oil yourself.
