Thanks for the information! What were your driving habits for that interval? (%freeway/city, spirited driving or babying the car)

Re: Leaking oil after dealer oil change! (ragingfish)

That is your new oil drain plug gasket, use it! Toyota (at least my dealer) gives a new gasket with each filter. I can't speak for the vibe/matrix, but I know the one on my camry was only good for one or two oil changes before it starts to leak through. I don't think they were designed to be reusabl...

Re: hi, new here. Is the AWD version really worth the extra coin vs. FWD only? (flex94)

I'm going to bring this thread back from the dead because I feel that I am one of the best people to answer this. I own both an AWD Vibe and a Base Auto Vibe. I know most would say that the AWD system is not worth it, but if I had to buy again, I would get the AWD. This is a comparison between autom...

Re: Recirculate door motor stripped (WENDY)

Wendy, One of the Vibes I own has the exact same problem, you are definately not alone on this problem. Apparently, this is a fairly common problem, as a couple of dealerships that I contacted knew of it. Also, the part takes a long time to get. I had them disconnect the motor till they received the...

Roadtrip with the AWD Vibe!

I finally got a chance to take a roadtrip with my Vibe, so I thought that I'd share the details with you guys:We ( 3 others and myself) drove a total of 3000 miles from the Bay Area, CA to Olypmia WA, and back, making lots of trips here and there along the way. Here are the points of interest relati...

Re: Factory Rack problem (labelle)

When you use the bike portion, you either have to not be able to open the hatch all the way, or you can flip the carrier around ( bikes will be facing backwards) and it will work fine. I am in the same dilema, I think if you have a Subaru you have to do the same thing. You could also have a shop cus...

Re: Black Matrix (d_m_kolb)

There are a couple monotone black Vibes down at the dealership about a block from my work. If there is interest I could snap a pic with my digital camera an post it. Let me know.-Chad

Cleaning Supplies

I'm interested in finding out what you guys are using to clean the interior of the Vibe. I'd also like to have suggestions on what you use for the plastic cladding on the bottom part of the car. I finally got around to wash and wax the car and it looks sweet!

Vibe Stock Stereo

Hey Guys, I was over at the Matrix message boards and I noticed that a lot of people were having problems with their CD-players making a rubbing noise, especially when braking. I haven't seen this with mine, but I have noticed that it does produce a faint but annoying whine, and the volume sensitivi...

Re: Vibe Gas Mileage (vibedriver)

I've been totally babying it for the break-in period, so I'm fairly sure that isn't the problem. I hope that it is the break-in period, or else this puts a damper on the idea of this being my road-trip car. 300 mi cruising range is an awful lot of fill-ups!

Vibe Gas Mileage

Here is a question that I want to throw out to you all who already bought a Vibe. I have an AWD Vibe, and I'm getting so far on average of 24 MPG over two tanks of gas so far (50% city, 50% highway). This is a far cry from the 26/31 that the sticker advertises. I also posted this on the Matrix forum...
