I don't think it would be heavy. A piece of UHMW or Delrin plastic of that size is light and the support(s) look like their aluminum. The support(s) also look like they have a pivot type mechanism to assist in lowering and raising the shelf. MmmmMmmmm.

I would purchase the Voltz cargo cover/table in a sec. The Vibes cargo cover is so cheap and I called GM to let them know what I taught of it.
