Serp belt replaced--thanks!

Our daughter took our 06 Vibe to the local indy today to get new tires installed (BF Goodrich Advantage T/A if anybody's curious) and the tech noticed the serpentine belt showed a lot of cracks and should be replaced soon. After some searching here, I got all the info I needed, picked up a Gates bel...

Re: (keithvibe)

Four Michelin X-Ice xi2s have been received by my local installer and will be mounted on some Sport Edition alloys that came off my wife's 03 Jetta. This set-up will go on my recently acquired 09 Vibe around Thanksgiving. Tire size is 195-65-15. We use Conti Extreme Winter Contacts in the same size ...

Re: (journeyforce)

Thanks, journeyforce. Yes, that is our Vicky the Volvo. She has required a lot of care and feeding, but with 4 Hakkas mounted, she is a beast in the winter.

Bought a second Vibe

After much soul-searching, I traded-in my 03 VW Jetta Gli on a 2009 Corolla Vibe. As a fifty-something, I figured it's time to get practical, give up performance, and gain reliability and fuel economy. This is my first ever automatic daily driver. I hope my left leg doesn't atrophy. On to gratuitous...

Re: (bull77)

Getting our new PCM was a bit of an adventure. I took it to my closest authorized Pontiac servicing dealer last Saturday. They looked at it and said they had to order the module since they had none in-house. Finally by Thursday I bring it in first thing, then come back after work to pick it up.I not...

Re: Poll - How many use Synthetic Oil or Regular Oil in their Vibe? (Entelodont)

We've had our '06 for less than a year. The first oil change, I used Castrol dino since Autozone was blowing it out at $12.50 for a 5.5 qt. jug. More recently I changed with Pennzoil Platinum synthetic 5W-30 from Wal-Mart, about $20 for the jug. Both times I used the AC Delco filter.Come Spring, if ...

Re: (Sublimewind)

Like Sublimewind, I'm a strong believer in dedicated winter tires--have been for many years. One of our old Volvos is currently shod with Nokian Hakka RSI's, in the hands of one of our daughters, driving around lake-effect country in west Michigan. They have performed superbly. The tires are 195-60-...

Do I have Moon and Tunes?

Just bought a 2006 base Vibe. It has crank windows and manual locks-a basic car, but it does have a power moonroof. After perusing this forum, I looked under the passenger seat and there is a big 'ol amplifier there. So, if I do want to install an aftermarket HU, will my 2006 likely have the blue/wh...

Michael, I thought you were in Farmington. Did you move? I'll add our recent Vibe to my TD set-up.

Re: Got a Vibe; first GM ever (jake75)

Yes, I realize our Vibe is a grandchild of the NUMMI Nova, but that means we get the fuel-efficiency and reliability of the 1ZZ-FE, as well as lots of other Toyota parts. I do rationalize that against the facts that the car carries a domestic nameplate, was assembled in the United States by, I presu...

Got a Vibe; first GM ever

Last Saturday we rounded out the family fleet with the purchase of a 2006 Vibe. It's a base with crank windows, which I like, but has a power moonroof, which I don't like, but wifey and kids do. Oh well, it's my wife's new DD, and so far she really likes it. It should be mcuh easier maintenance-wise...
