Re: Vibe chime problem (ou.grizzly)

Thanks. I don't think so. The problem goes higher than that. When we talked w/ Pontiac headquarters (you have no idea how much this chime drives my wife up the wall), they said the case was "resolved"because it didn't make the noise when they had it. Of course, it has been well below freez...

Re: Vibe chime problem (13Vibe03)

Thanks. We looked @ the Lemon Law, but intermittent chiming is not considered a serious problem. The "stealership" (thanks!) tried to tell me that the problem didn't exist. & I agree that intermittent problems do suck. I used to repair computers, and those problems are the worst. But i...

Re: Vibe chime problem (ehoff121)

That's great--not the problem but great. I may have to order 1/2 a dozen for Christmas. But back to the point, Pontiac seemed unpersuaded by my logic that if the car is chiming, look at the things that are designed to chime. As CP said later, it may be the radio. Following CP's directions, we made t...

Re: (tomdurkin)

I wouldn't say that the Pontiac peoplel are stupid or incompetent because of this. THey might be, but it is an odd problem nobody has encountered before and they can't recreate.(ME) Thanks! I appreciate the help, and you guys here know a lot. Harsh, admittedly. I said they were clueless because the ...

Thanks everyone--although I don't know if you want to hear us sing. We will try that ASAP, as well as cleaning the door switches.. I'll pull the fuse nest time it goes, as the chimes often happen in extended series. It is still under extended warranty, so Pontiac should replace it. Thanks again- Tom...

Re: Vibe chime problem (tomdurkin)

Hi, it's Tom's wife here. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. We now think the problem is the radio thanks to ColonelPanic. AFter the Pontiac dealer was unable to recreate the problem over three days, on our way home from picking up the car, I hit the "6" button on the radio, and voi...

Re: Vibe chime problem (tomdurkin)

It is that kind of radio- we did get the LOUD-NORMAL. We are also totally pissed @ the Pontiac people. They decided after parking the car for 3 days that if they couldn't replicate the problem, it didn't exist. We are driving from Chicago to Florida for Xmas, & they told us the next time it happ...

Re: (Sublimewind)

Thanks Sublimewind! There are no warning or other light that come on. That damn chime happens day or night, so we would notice new lights. We have tried opening & closing all the doors, hatches, etc. The Vibe still chimes, and Pontiac remains clueless.

Re: Vibe chime problem (ColonelPanic)

Thank you ColonelPanic! It is absolutely sets of 3 chimes rather than a buzzer. I'll fax that to the service manager. We are hanging on to a loaner car until they fix it. We didn't know the radio thing. The chimes go with the radio off

Vibe chime problem (Pontiac is clueless)

We brought our 2007 Vibe in 3-4 times to get rid of a 3 chime series. The chimes go off when we are going over 45 MPH & the car is warm. It is more likely when the highway curves. We taped the chime noise, but the mechanic couldn't recreate it. They said "their hands are tied". Pontiac...
