GM dealer was $11.xx vs. toyata dealer $6.xx. for the filter 1.8. the 65mm cap for $5 I bought would not fit the 64mm it slipped. I used a channel lock plier and gripped it and turned it fine removing the oil filter housing.

Re: Trikkonceptz - 2004 Vibe (trikkonceptz)

looks like a fun goal to go for. In south florida I assume you use a/c unless you do your I95 & turnpike driving at night when it's a little cooler or you use some mighty strong antiperspirants. .............Concerning "Peoples perception of the hazards of driving the speed limit are just t...

Re: New 2009 Vibe Owners Likes and Dislikes (shemp)

As mentioned in how to overcome a long driving trip/fatigue, 1. The head restraint is pushing the head too far toward the front of the vibe causing the body to resemble a C shape. By reversing the head restraint 180 degrees this now seems to be a non-issue.2. The rear view mirror could have been glu...

Re: (joatmon)

Thanks that helped. My 09 has a plastic piece (decoration) that I removed leading up to top of windshield (I removed this and now my wires are more easily seen like yours in your picture). I then loosed the star screw and slid it up about 1/2 inch on the metal attachment gluded to the window. i then...

I just solved my headrest solution of protruding too far forward for my liking. 1st I tried moving the smaller rear headrests to the front seat but unfortunately the metal tracks are a different distant apart for the holes than the front seats. After several minutes looking, I decided to try reversi...

Re: (03vibegt-r)

unfortunately bottom of headrest does not have a zipper. But, it could be pulled apart (sort of like glue holding it together on the bottom).

Re: 07 gas gauge (vibolista)

I agree with you vibolista. I've replaced a fuel pump on a safari van and looked up fuel pump failure causes and the speculation is that the increased heat of the pump not being fully submerged in gas may shorten the pumps life. I try to not let my gas tank on any vehicle go below 1/4 to hopefully k...

Just a FYI, After replacing a fuel pump in a 1996 safari van, I researched fuel pump failures and found that low fuel level's in the tank may lead to more heat build up in the pump submerged in the tanks gasoline and a shorter life span. I never try to allow any of my cars/vans to get lower than 1/4...

Re: (03vibegt-r)

It looks like an extension of plastic originally supporting the mirror extends down...

The taking apart of the seat sounds interesting but more the idea of taking apart the head restraint that is angled toward the front of the Vibe too much. Is it possible to remove and decrease the amount of foam in it or angle it differently????

For comfort what adjustments do you do to drive the Vibe on trips???

I'll assume someone called Ingineer #1 at 6 ft 5 inches with osteoporois and a severly curved backbone designed the front seats. I'll assume Ingineer #2 at 5ft 2 inches decided where to place the rear view mirrow on the windshield. Unfortunately I am neither. If I was the 5ft guy I could easily see ...
