Yes that guy is trying to screw you over. The adapter for the M&T is $30 at Crutchfield and it's the PAC model. When I got my HU, it was $50 and the Schosche (sp?) model. Just ensure that you are getting the correct one for the M&T and not just the base stereo though. There are some members...
