Disc brake clunking noise during the first stop moving forward or backward

Like the title says, my 2008 Vibe with 54k miles has developed a front brake noise during the first brake application going forward or reverse. It is a metalic click/clunk noise that does not occur after the first braking.I pulled the front wheels and I believe I have found the cause. The wheel lug ...

Re: 2009 Keyless Entry question: Open all doors on first push? (shemp)

I don't have the solution, but would love having this avaiable for my 2008 as well. Pushing the button twice to enter the hatch is cumbersome for me when every other car I've owned was set up for 1-push all-doors open.

Re: Ignition Key Chip (milestarver)

Unless your Vibe has the Theft-Deterrent Alarm System (and I'm guessing it doesn't since you don't have keyless entry), then you can just get a standard ignition key made at a hardware store. My '08 Vibe has a lot of options, but Theft-Deterrent Alarm System isn't one of them. I think it's a pretty r...

Re: 2009 Vibe Gt- MP3 Question (tonio)

I can't speak for the '09 model, but my '08 with the Monsoon system has MP3 capabilities, and I've burned a CD that works great. The display shows the file name for each mp3, and I've got it set to randomly shuffle songs.I don't know the answer your question about CD-RW, sorry.

Re: Onstar antenna - Does it also have an XM radio plug? (breezd)

Well, the results and in, and the operation was a complete success. The Onstar antenna on my 2008 model also has XM capabilities.I purchased the following items to make my add-on Roady2 receiver work with the on-roof antenna....www.myradiostore.com1 - 20' Antenna Extension for $23.98 including shipp...

Re: Onstar antenna - Does it also have an XM radio plug? (breezd)

Thanks, breezd. I sure see a lot of Vibes here in SE Wisconsin.I think I've answered my own question about the antenna. I peeked under the headliner in back and see the antenna has 3 wires coming from it, with two of them currently in use by Onstar. The unused wire has a male SMB plug on the end, wh...

Onstar antenna - Does it also have an XM radio plug?

My 2008 Vibe came with Onstar but not factory XM. The Onstar antenna is on the roof next to the standard radio antenna. I have an XM Roady2 receiver in the car and it's XM antenna sitting on the dash. My question is does the Onstar antenna also serve as an XM antenna for those who have both OEM opti...

Re: (cds22)

I was going to suggest having a Used Oil Analysis done, but since you just had the oil changed the results may not be as valuable as they could have been. It's amazing what these tests can reveal by determining what metals are at higher than normal levels, and it might point you in the right directi...

Re: (jake75)

As far as pricing, it's hard to say since I didn't have the invoice numbers handy for an '09 (we were there specifically to look at their '08 models, so that's what I did my homework on). The MSRP of the '09 was lower than the '08, but I ended up buying the '08 for well under invoice, plus got the $...

Re: (jake75)

We looked at the '09 Vibe when we bought our '08, and we didnt' like the '09 nearly as much. The lower rear hatch height and the speed-racer styling didn't match our practical, family-hauler needs. The '09 standard safety features are nice, but we ended up getting those as options so it wasn't a pro...

Re: parts locator (Vibrator08)

I purchased a 2008 Vibe on Saturday, and thanks to this forum the dual center armrest cover will be my first mod. As I was driving into work today I realized my right arm was uncomfortable due to the low armrest, and was dreaming up ways to rectify the situation. One quick search of this forum gave ...
