I just replaced mine (135k). When the code first came up I ignored it. Then it came on more and more until my MPG dropped by 20%; a 6 month span. Don't waste your money on oxygen sensors, I did and it didn't fix this problem. I now have alot more low and high end power and am back to 32mpg instantly...

Hey guys, I installed my Cosmo CAI a year ago. I noticed that there was a second solenoid with two vaccum connections that wasn't mentioned in the installation instructions. It was attached to the stock air box. I left this solenoid loose after the install, but should I have plugged off the two vacc...

MPG

I've put 21,000 miles on my Vibe in the last nine months and have recorded 32-34 mpg. I have a GT 6 speed, I added a Cosmo CAI and 17" scion rims and tires. I drive about 75-80 mph in varied terrain alot of times with the AC. I bought this car with 100k and it's been great except the pesky, but...

Re: (vibeinjackson)

Your lucky, the last car I worked on that had accidentally ran diesel had hole in number 4 piston. You need to watch your gauges closely for the next couple hundred miles. If something looks out of wack, stop the car immediately and take it back to a repair shop.

the p0420 strikes again

I'm back with the same issues, but more infomation. I notice the only time I get this code is after I run the car with a full load of people. I'm having intermittant drivability issues right before the code comes on; hard idle, sluggishness. I haven't had alot of time to nail this one down. I hoping...

Re: (chevelle_lover)

The engine was the issue. The 3.4 OHV V6 (now 3.5) is notrious for blowing lower intake manifold gaskets. On average it costs 800.00 to repair, usually around 60k. I found personally that dexcool is the problem, the gasket sits between aluminum and cast iron (different expansion rates). When the eng...

Re: How common are CEL lights? (2002sportside)

I've seen a 0420 once, but it never reappeared. I will warn those of you that haven't replaced the cat to not jump the gun and spend 500 to replace it. This appears to be a common problem that may be just a glitch with the ECM. As long as the cel is not blinking, this is an intermittent issue. It is...

Re: (Zeppo)

I think it's time to start this thread up again. I popped up the magic 420 the other day. I cleared the code, but I fear it will show it's face again. Should we start a poll to see how many people are experencing this problem...

Here is a quick photo. I've been really busy sorry for the delay. I painted the grille, personally it looks better than the billet grille.

Scion TC 17" wheels and Tires fit the Vibe

I was looking to upgrade the stock rims, frankly I don't care for them. I went on Ebay and picked up a set of Scion TC rims and tires brand new for 500.00 and picked them up today locally. Low and behold a perfect fit. These rims look much better than the stocks. I will be posting pictures soon. I d...
