Fuel Gauge Stuck

Hey Viberators,I'm coming up on 210k on my 2003 base vibe, I filled up my tank yesterday and since then my fuel gauge has been stuck on full. It drops back to home position when I turn it off, and goes back to the full mark. It is decently cold out (about 25-35F) and the vehicle has been driven and ...

'03 Base Vibe - Soft Brake Pedal

Hey Viberators,I've been having some issues with a soft (spongy) brake pedal. This was not a overnight symptom and has developed over time. I will be working on my rear brakes (shoes) shortly and have recently replaced my front pads. The issue existed prior to my brake job. I have never changed out ...

@Sublime - I tried your link later, it did work for me. But while I was clicking around, I did find the whole service manual for download so that people don't D/L from that host and eat up bandwidth if they do decide to D/L.http://pdftown.com/PDF-Toyota-....htmlD/L'd it myself, same manual listed by...

Re: Replacing struts on 03' Vibe GT (Sublimewind)

@Sublimewind - Thanks for the info. I will replace the mounts and the bellows along with the struts/shocks. However, I did attempt to get the manual in your profile, however the link is either not working or incorrect. I would really like to get my hands on that! But thanks for your help, if you do ...

Re: Replacing struts on 03' Vibe GT (HelpPlease)

I have been looking into doing my struts/shocks as well. I have a 2003 Base FWD and using the information I've gleaned off the website, believe I can do this myself. Especially since the pricing I've been getting for F/R shocks/struts, front mounts, and an alignment was about $1,300. I will post the...

Those look great! I have the abyss (metallic black) color and glossy black spoke rims myself. They feature the chrome outer ring with chrome tuber lugs. I was thinking black but I don't know if that would be too much black or not. Ill be doing my drums as well.

Photobucket album made public now! Haven't had a chance to take some really good pics with my actual camera, these are just from my phone. Like I said, I'll be painting my drum and my calipers soon. Probably a semi-gloss black.

And P.P.S. - I haven't ignored my brakes! I check them with my caliper (and my good sense my momma gave me) regularly. They are just starting to get to the "squeak" point and my rotors are good! I'm not mistreating her, I swear!

Re: '03 Basic 16" looking for cheap new rims (bikeman1)

Semi-Gloss - maybe the semi-gloss versus the brighter gloss because of the fact that the more mirror like and shiny it is, the more it will show imperfections and mistakes? Also, I don't have "winter tires" and "summer tires". Like I said, I drive the heck out of this car year ro...

@ Zimm - I found the wheels you were talking about.http://www.racelinewheels.com/....aspxThey are on Belle Tires for $84.00 just like you said. What does everyone think? I like the black just because I do drive a lot of dirty roads and alloy/chrome seems to take a lot of work. I've had them before a...

Re: '03 Basic 16" looking for cheap new rims (MisterHighway)

I appreciate all the input. Unfortunately I don't know that my current rims that are on the car are up to getting a repaint. They are getting a bit rusty. Still a lot of integrity, but not really sure how I should tackle removing the buildup of dust and rust, then painting. Though I wouldn't mind th...

'03 Basic 16" looking for cheap new rims

I love and have a 2003 Vibe, Basic, FWD, and she just turned 185,000 the other day. I have the original rims with the annoying plastic hubcaps. Looking at these plastic hubcaps who have been cracking and starting to fall apart, I decided to get new covers. I have found the hubcap covers to be approx...

Re: (bull77)

I've had the passenger side glass and bulb broken on my '03 vibe for years. I didn't want to pay $110 to replace it through GM (that was the cost a couple years ago) so I just put it on the back burner. A little while ago I was driving down a dirt road and a big truck threw a rock at my car. I looke...

Broken Driver's Side Quarter Window

I was out driving on a dirt road (unavoidable where I live) and a dang dump truck flew by and shattered my drivers side quarter window (behind the driver's passenger door). A brand new replacement costs about $340 and I have been looking around at junk yards but no luck as of yet. Totally ridiculous...

1. Turn off your engine.2. Engage your parking brake to ONE click.3. Start your car.4. Enjoy.Just release your PB and your lights will come on. I don't think this engages the parking brake entirely and I only use it for stationary parking usually anyhow. I notice no difference in performance with ju...

POLL: Did you want ABS on your Vibe?

A day or two after I had purchased my Vibe, I was looking over the spec list for my car (from the window) and realized that I didn't have ABS. I spoke to my dealer who informed me that in 1993 ABS became standard, and in 2003, it stopped being so. Now I can't really find a Vibe without it, and my mo...

Brake Job on '03 Vibe Base w/o ABS 103,000miles

I have a 2003 Vibe without ABS. I have just about 103k miles on it, and I am getting ready to do the brakes on it. I would prefer to replace the rotors and brake pads all in one shot, but I have never done a brake job before. I am pretty mechanically inclined, but I don't want to skip something impo...
