Re: The Pre-Vibe Jitters? (02csnow)

One year, 24000 miles, 30 mpg average - and no problems. Comfortable, handles well, fun to drive. Only thing that I dislike is that it is noisy inside at 80 mph - but some sound deadening material will cure that one of these days.

Great idea! I did something similar, only mounted the fork blocks directly to the tracks on the back of the seat - this way I can still carry a person and a bike. I used hex head screws, and leave an allen wrench in the glove box for those moments when I need to adjust the length. I'm also working o...

Re: (ragingfish)

Poor gas mileage, and strange treadwear patterns? Could the alignment be off? That could have an effect on gas mileage, especially if there's excessive toe-in or toe-out. I don't know what the symptoms of incorrect toe are on a Vibe, but when I experienced it with another car, the symptoms were scal...

Re: Seat track extention DIY (vibe-04)

Great idea! I had trouble with my left knee, and created some extra leg room by taking out the dead pedal. What you may need next ( and I could use now) is a telescopic steering column.

Re: Cargo area dog bars (keithvibe)

I built one using $25 worth of vinyl-covered closet shelving and shelf supports from Home Depot, and used the sliding cargo tie-downs to secure it to the seat backs. You need a 4 ft length of shelving, and two shelf bracket mounting strips, and some hardware to secure the two together. I'd send a ph...
