Re: Xenon Bulbs for my Vibe! (mu_ohio)

In terms of color, I owned a 6000K 9006 kit for my '99 Denali before this 7000K kit. Honestly, they're both very similar. The only thing I noticed is that the 6000k kit has a good bit more "purple" in the hue, whereas the 7000k is a true white. For some real-life reference, I'm fairly posit...

Re: Xenon Bulbs for my Vibe! (mu_ohio)

The installation procedures are quite simple, actually. I'll hopefully have some pics up in the next couple of days. Since you're obviously adept at changing the bulbs (thanks to those PIAA's) I won't go into great detail there, but here's the skinny of it:Remove the old bulbs (including the little ...

Re: 17" tires that come with the 17" wheel option -- Snow worthy? (E-Man)

No! We recently had a decent amount of snow, and there is on thing I can tell you for sure: taking those tires out on it was nothing short of scary. "Unpredictable," as someone else put it, is an incredible understatement. I felt like I couldn't do anything to keep these tires stuck to the...

Re: AWD Owners!!!!! (baddkkarma)

According to all the literature I've read, the AWD has fewer HP because of the way the exhaust is routed. It has to go around the rear differential in such a way that it prevents the exhaust from escaping as efficiently. My two cents.

Re: Winter and the GT (old man winter)

I checked the local discount tire shops, and the best deal I could find were the Blizzaks for around $500 for the set (with crappy steel rims). To take those up to 17", they were going upwards of $800 (without the rims), so that pretty much ended the discussion there. I think what I'm going to ...

Re: Xenon Bulbs for my Vibe! (NovaResource)

First of all, yes, it is the HID kit, not just bulbs. Older generations of kits came with both a starter and a ballast. New systems now integrate the starter into the ballast so there's not as much extra "junk" floating around your engine compartment. Also, when I mentioned no more brights...

Xenon Bulbs for my Vibe!

Hey all!Well, my vibe was getting ready to hit another milestone (6000mi) so I figured I'd adorn it with something special. Well, I had HID lights on my previous vehicle ('99 Denali) so I figured, what the heck - I'll get some for my Vibe too. After looking around the 'net for a while, I came across ...

Re: Vibe's Fuel Economy

I've had my GT for a while now (5900mi) and I've been pulling in an average 22mpg with about a 25/75 (city/hwy) mix. This seems awfully low to me. I rather expected a little better than V6 mileage out of my little 1.8L. Don't get me wrong - I love my Vibe. I just find the mileage a bit... disappoint...
