Re: Longer waits in Canada? (Frosty)

It makes logistical sense. A railcar holds a whole lot more cars, so, direct them all to some central distribution then truck them to their final destination. It doesn't mean it will take longer.Think of FEDEX or UPS. If you send a package across your city, it still goes to the central hub in Atlanta...

Re: A factory Order: Purchasing a Vibe in CANADA with a Trade-in (1234)

Ordered March 17 with a $500 deposit and traded in a car.At the time of order, a trade value was written into the purchase contract. On July 27th when we picked up the car, he honored the trade value.Note that the trade value is based on the condition and mileage, so if you run up the odometer or man...

Re: Longer waits in Canada? (MA-VIBE-FAN)

Good points.I'd just add that its a pretty difficult balancing act from a marketing point of view. You need to a) make a healthy profit b) deliver a quality vehicle c) keep customers happy and loyal so they'll come back. From the opinions expressed here, it sounds as though people are willing to wait...

Re: Longer waits in Canada? (Frosty)

I believe that the longer waits in Canada have nothing to do with specific options or anything like that.Look at the US dollar base price and convert it to Canadian. Then, compare this to the Canadian base price. Voila!! They make more money selling Vibes in the US. Canadian BASE = 19,850 canadian d...

Re: Canadian Vibe - What did you pay ? (gmvibe)

Paid full invoice price from the GM website. Ours was a factory order with very few options so I doubt any dealer would move much. There is much more room for them if you get a fully loaded GT or AWD with Navigation system etc.Did negotiate the finance rate to 2.9% though.Offered very fair trade-in....

Re: How many weeks to receive an factory ordered Pontiac Vibe? (Frosty)

Some thoughts.....1) Ordered our Neptune Vibe (Safety package, premium sound) March 17. Was built week of July 4. Arrived in our driveway July 27.Have been told that orders are now taking even a little longer. Our dealer had 9 "build spots" allocated in March. We reserved one of these then...
