Re: 2008 Vibe Starts a Little Rough

The starter does turn over each time they key is turned. I know the plugs and ignition coils haven't been in replaced in the last 130,000 miles. I am planning to start there.
Thanks for the input!

2008 Vibe Starts a Little Rough

My 2008 vibe with 140,000 miles has been starting a little rough. About the half the time the engine turns over about 4 times before starting and the other half it turns over twice before starting like it always has. It has started every time and I don't need to turn the key for a long time or try m...

Routine Front End Repair

I have a 2008 Vibe with 132,000 miles on it. I am planning to inspect the front end and replace anything that looks worn out. I plan to look at ball joints, tie rods and sway bars. Do these things generally need to be replaced at 130,000 miles? I am also wondering if/when water pumps tend to go out?...

Re: Recommended strut kits

I replaced all 4 on my 2008 with Monroe Quick-Struts. The install went and well and they seem to work as expected. RockAuto was running a deal and I got all 4 for around $350 which seemed like a good deal.
Can't speak to other brands.

The car is a 2008. I am I not sure about the rear brakes. What is a good way to confirm the rear drum brakes are working correctly.

Brake issue?

So it seems like my vibe goes through rotors to fast. At about 88,000 the front pads and rotors were replaced with the good stuff (done by a professional shop). Around 115,000 the car needed new rotors and the brakes made a squeal when I applied them. The noise was the loudest at around 40-45 and wa...

Place to purchase roof rack parts

I am looking to purchase the square metal piece with a hole in the middle that the bolt screws into to attach the crossarms. Not sure on the name. When I bought a set off a junk vibe I got 7 out of the 8 and used a few zip ties to attach the last one. Anyone have one for sale/know where I can buy on...

Hitch mounting issues

I bought and installed a hitch on my 2008 vibe. The holes were already there and since the car has been through Midwest winters for the last ten years a bought a tap to clean rust out of the holes. I torqued three out of the four bolts to spec. The threading on the fourth hole stripped out and the b...
