Re: Battery or starter?

Ok my mistake. I looked at the battery now and it looks like it is still oem lol. I remember about 5 years ago we were looking at swapping the battery but I guess we never got around to it. There are no markings on it stating Kirkland it is all black and mentions manufactured for Toyota on a small l...

Re: Battery or starter?

After the reverse boost happened I bought one of those plug in volt meters for the cigarette lighter to monitor the alternator. When the car was running it was always around 13.9 to 14.1, I know it wasnt a fool proof test but about as good as it would get using what I had.

Re: Battery or starter?

Thanks for the reply. It's a Costco branded battery. I think it's about 5 years old at this point. I should check the date code and see if it's still under some sort of warrant

Battery or starter?

Wife's 07 vibe wouldnt start this morning. Turn key and chatter from under the hood (click click click really fast) I know there is a starter issue that just goes all of a sudden but would the starter even click? Just for giggles I charged the battery a bit (was floating around 12.5) and after 20 mi...

Leaking intake gasket?

A couple of years ago we had the issue with the OEM intake gasket cracking and letting air in causing the car to idle really bad and throw a CEL. I ended up replacing the gasket but the one that replaced it wasn't the orange or red gasket, it was another black (maybe old stock??). Anyways it fixed t...

Got off lucky

Last week my wifes battery was dead in the vibe (2007 base). She had some friends jump start it but it was evening out and I guess the battery was hard to see...anyways they ended up reversing the polarity on one of the batteries. Car had no vitals after, no lights nothing. When I got around to chec...

Re: Electrical Issue

Hello everyone. Same thing happened to my wife's 97 vibe the other day. Currently at the dealer out of town and they said it could be the ecu but havn't done a full diagnostic yet. Originally the alt fuse link broke so I had them replace that but still won't crank. I'm getting it towed home so I can...
