Rear Wiper Unit Pooched

Hey all, Thought I'd give a heads up that my rear wiper unit failed yesterday. Driving along, hit the wiper, it stopped half way or so. Thought nothing of it until my wife asked where the burning smell was coming from. Smelled just like truck/bus brakes and I told her I thought that was the source. ...

Re: (Gala)

If that doesn't work, check your tailpipe gasket (at the exhaust manifold junction). Mine's gone and it's LOUD under load. And not a good loud, either. More like a loud snappy/raspy loud...Cheers, Marc

Re: Vibe/Matrix Manual (joatmon)

Sweet. Thanks for the links, joatmon.I'll have a look in the VERY near future. I've got a valve cover gasket on order ($41CDN) so I can go in and measure for any possibly req'd shims. The l'il girl turned 105k kms this past weekend, and all it's really cost me is a set of rear rotors and an exhaust g...

Exhaust Gasket Part Number?

Hey all, After searching high and low on gmpartsdirect as well as my GM software, I was unable to track down the part numbers for the exhaust seal/gasket for the manifold/pipe junction, the 2 bolts, and the 2 springs for my 2003 GT. For whatever reason, the GM site doesn't show the bolts/springs...I...

Top-End Noise?

Hey all, Searched the archives and didn't come up with any hits...Got back into the Vibe (2003 GT) the other day after a month or so from being in it and took a run to the store (wife's daily driver). I noticed that when applying the throttle under load (accelerating quickly or whatever), there was ...

Wow. Isn't this a pisser. Just when you thought Toyota had a pretty solid product, this came along.Ok, so it's another scheduled maintenance item, which isnt' so bad. Here's what I'm wondering though - for those of you who've inspected and found worn bolts, what type of oil were you using? I'm wonder...

Annoying Reverse Beeper (GT only?)

Hey all, Before doing a little exploratory surgery, I thought I'd see if anyone has chased down and done away with or changed the beeper that sounds when you shift into reverse (on the GT anyway). On another note, it's been a while since I've been in here and when browsing through the DIY section, I ...

Re: Snow Tires (Salsa!)

Hey Salsa!, It's Turpin on Carling. I really didn't expect to be buying premium tires at a dealership for fear of paying premium prices, but hey, maybe they've realized that they can't bleed everyone dry before the rest of us figure out that we can get this stuff cheaper elsewhere.Apparently the def...

Re: Snow Tires

Hey All, Long time lurker, first time poster. Put me on the list of those who have snow-buns on their Vibe. It handled fine on stock tires in the nice little snow appearance a week and a half ago, but now I'm much happier knowing that it's *ready*.For those in the Ottawa area, I got them at the deal...
