Re: '04 Vibe GT 6 speed clutch

Thanks for all the help. I ordered an Exety clutch kit and Luk flywheel on parts geek for $170 shipped. Found a mechanic to do the labor for $500. He said my pressure plate had broken into three pieces >_< now I'm back on the road with the replaced clutch :D

Re: '04 Vibe GT 6 speed clutch

That video was a lot of help. I just checked my travel on the fork and it's exactly like your video. In that case the throwout bearing must have gone. In that case however would the pressure plate/disc and flywheel need to be replaced due to damage from running like this? I'm thinking of getting a O...

Re: 2004 GT Clutch replaced

Thanks trb and TGSnellg. That clutch looks good and really affordable. I'm still trying to figure out if it's my clutch or the fork/bearing which needs replacing. Fortunately for now I'm close enough to walk to work until I can pull this thing.

Re: '04 Vibe GT 6 speed clutch

Hey nice video! So that is normal travel of the clutch fork? I'll check that today and see if I'm getting the correct travel. If that is operating correctly, how do I know if the clutch is just shot?

Re: Service Bulletin A/C Not Cold Enough

Jay did you check your AC coolant pressure? My 04 wasn't getting cold at all and was killing me in this 100 degree California weather. $40 at autozone on one of those AC recharge kits and 20 minutes under the hood solved the problem. Btw, make sure to check the pressure while the car is running.

OP do you have a link to the clutch kit you bought? I have the same car and am shopping around for a decent clutch.

Re: Cabin Filter Source Update

Bought this for $8.50 (price went up to $9.32 for some reason). I'm happy with it, works fine.

Re: '04 Vibe GT 6 speed clutch

In that case, how do I troubleshoot to narrow down if it's an issue with pedal hydraulics? I'm not seeing any leaking fluids under the vehicle.

Re: '04 Vibe GT 6 speed clutch

Yeah I can easily shift through all the gears with the engine off. That is how I've had to shift it to drive anywhere. I haven't looked at the break fluid though. I took it to the local mechanic who said it was definitely the clutch. Since it's the GT model he said the last owner probably drove it l...

Re: '04 Vibe GT 6 speed clutch

Dang, really? I thought it would just be the clutch seeing as how it will drive once in gear, but just can't shift between gears >_<
I'm probably going to have to take it to a shop at least to have a proper inspection and diagnosis...

'04 Vibe GT 6 speed clutch

I have only had my Vibe for a month and have really loved it. Last night I was on the highway shifting when suddenly I heard a thud and my car would not shift into gear. I pulled off the road to discover it just would not shift at all. I was able to turn off the car, shift easily into second gear, s...

Re: Yellow cable behind glove box

I do see the little airbag light is on, so that must mean that it's disengaged right? I'll definitely call about the airbag recall etc.

Re: Yellow cable behind glove box

No I haven't taken it in. I just purchased the car with 121k miles for $4k. After doing some research I really wanted a vibe :)
Hmm... I wonder if the previous owner detached it themselves or took it in for the recall and the mechanics left it detached.

Yellow cable behind glove box

Hello,

While replacing the cabin air filter on my 2004 Vibe I discovered this yellow cable dangling freely behind the glove box. I have no idea what it is for?
I have a 2004 Vibe GT with the Moons and Tunes package but no sub.
