I would get a new kit. It comes with everything you need to get the job done, extra long cables, instructions, etc. It's not that expensive and very worthwhile.
Awesome! Thank you for that.I went at it this morning and got it all hooked up and powered. I prefer not to cut existing wires so I decided to piggyback on top of the spade contact inside the connector.Had a hell of a time trying to extract the wire from the connector but then I realized there is a ...
hey guys... actuators installed in four doors. hatch will have to wait till next weekend.Took almost a day to get it all wired up and installed.... now the big question: I've been looking around underneath the instrument panel for a source of 12 volts - things are very tight there!! Any pointers as ...
VibeBear, thanks for the info.I checked all over and it seems that A1 Electric has the best deals so I'll go with that one.Did you have to install any extra hardware to go with the hatch actuator (ie. brackets, linkage, etc)?
Hey Guys... thank you for getting back.Thank you for suggesting aftermarket, I'm definitely going to go that route.I'm definitely electronics savvy as this is what I do for a living coupled with all sorts of stuff I design and build outside work. I'm assuming that I will have to retrofit the existin...
Hey guys...I have a 04 Vibe base model with manual door locks. My wife is beginning to hate the idea and wants power locks installed.I promised I'd do it but before I dig in, I have a couple of questions:1. What would be the best place you'd recommend to buy the kit from2. Is the existing Vibe harne...
Thanks joatmon.... that's exactly what my replacement rotors look like. Man... I got fooled by the rust, LOL.It's funny because moments earlier I replaced the rotors on my Saturn and the old ones were so tired and beat to hell that they came off by themselves almost. Thanks again for the info... I'l...
Hi guys....Last night I attempted to replace the front rotors on my 03 Vibe and got highly confused. I'm not sure if this is because of rust or what but it appears that the rotors on the car are different from the replacement ones. The replacement ones seems to be just "slip-on" types, whil...
UPDATE!Right after I posted the above, I went at it once again and got it fixed. The main gear that rotates the damper was stripped so I simply rotated it 180 degrees and it is working fine once again. If it strips again, I will have to get a new motor assembly. As far as the limit switches... there ...
Hi all....My wife has been complaining about her Vibe making clicking noises coming from the cabin filter area.I have traced the problem to the recirculation motor. After fighting with it for over an hour trying to remove it, I finally got it out, took it apart and found that the main gear is stripp...
I might be going there on the weekend, I live about 25 minutes away from there. I'll give them a call to make sure. Are they still called Radio Shack? Most of them up here are now called The Source.
Good news so far. Thanks for the replies.I checked Best Buy and Future Shop all over Ottawa this week and NONE of them carry the harness. I'm heading to Toronto tomorrow and will take a look there. The HU I'm installing is Clarion DXZ365MPthanks again
Hey guys... I just bought an MP3 HU for m wife's 03 Vibe. Today I went to get a wiring harness plug at the local Future Shop (Canada)... to my amazement they informed me that I need to buy a "relay kit" which will enable the car to function correctly when using an aftermarket HU. Without t...
Hi guys... appreciate the info.I'll definitely have to pop it out and see what's happening in there. I have a pretty good idea as to what is blown, I just hope that they used generic parts as opposed to their "house numbered" ones. If latter is the case, I'll have to find a replacement rad...
My 9 year old son, in his infinite wisdom, has decided to have a little fun with the CD player. He would press the eject button and physically hold the CD back to prevent it from unloading (at least this is what he has admitted to doing). I'm not sure how many times he had done that but the CD playe...
Hi guys...thanks to all of you for getting back to me on this, I really appreciate it. Maybe it's just me but from what I've seen, this size doesn't seem to be as popular, at least not in places that I frequent. In any case, now I know what to look for. Thanks again to all of you..
