We get a very consistent 26 mpg, whether city or highway. We would probably get better highway mileage, except our road trips are usually at 75-80 mph with 3 people in the car. Only one time did we get 31 mpg... that was with 2 people and not ever exceeding 70 mph. Anything that causes the RPMs to g...

No mechanical problems with the liftgate. But ours ALWAYS has a lot of fingerprints on thae paint, at the bottom right under the license plate, from where you push to close it. It's impossible to keep that area clean. I'm not sure what would solve this problem.

I would gladly trade the "flip-up" glass for a good glove box light.

Re: Increase fuel economy of your Vibe by ~15%!! (Atomb)

Quote »2. While cruising, don't let rpms get higher than 2500rpm. This involved a lot of 80km/h (50 mph) driving (speed limit on my commute) in 5th gear.No doubt our Vibe would get better mileage cruising at 50 mph. However, since I live in central Kansas, it's hard to imagine any significant trip ...

We bought our '05 last April prior to Employee Pricing; the dealer had an identical one on the lot in July and the "Employee Price" they had on it was a few hundred dollars MORE than we had paid for ours in April.

Does the front and rear bumpers match the rest of the car as in shinnyness (is that a word). Mine do not match, the rear and front bumpers are a matte enamel finish not gloss? The deal...

We like our Vibe a lot, but our fuel economy has been disappointing. Highway mileage is about 25-27 mpg, which is equal to what my 3500-lb 3.8L Grand Prix gets.

Re: 2006 Vibe - new color / minor exterior change

So, looking at that window sticker... is the rear cargo mat now standard? I also noticed "Rear seat heater ducts" listed... I don't think our '05 has that...

Re:

We bought my wife's 2005 Vibe (base, auto) last April and, so far, the highway mileage has been my only significant disappointment. We get a consistent 26 mpg City, which is acceptable. On the highway, if we only have 2 occupants, don't use AC, and keep the speed around 70-75, we have averaged as mu...
