rotor dust shield broke off

So I just heard a loud scraping noise while driving (2009 base vibe), and upon inspection I found that one of the rear rotor dust shields broke off and was knocking around inside the wheel. I was able to pull it out and that stopped the noise. Any idea how involved it would be to replace this? Or ca...

Re: backup camera install on 2009 vibe base

Do you still need the pin location of the connector in question? It looks like you're good to either way :) I've got mixed feelings on the display being part of the rear view mirror. I know Ford uses this method on some of their cars & GM uses the dash monitor instead. I think I'd prefer a sepa...

Re: thepuppyprince - 2009 Vibe base

Thanks for the intro "pup" :D Navy Blue I presume? That is the color of Junior's Vibe in my fleet 8-) Manuals are fun to drive BUT in 90% city driving that could get old. In any case enjoy the ride and thanks for sharing it with us. Yes, navy blue-- I love it and have definitely gotten a ...

Re: thepuppyprince - 2009 Vibe base

Sharp looking car! I bet that stick shift is loads of fun spending 90% of the time sitting in traffic though. Yes 1st and 2nd gear definitely get a workout, but I've gotten used to it for the most part. Stop and go traffic on an incline is the worst... and drivers around here are very quick to honk...

Thanks! Yes, if it is not too much trouble that would definitely give me some peace of mind.

thepuppyprince - 2009 Vibe base

Hi all, Here is my 2009 base (stick shift!). I bought it about a year ago at 50k miles from a dealership. I drive it in New York City now-- pretty much in traffic 90% of the time and not too many highway miles... The car was in perfect aesthetic condition when I got it, but has since been exposed to...

BTW this is what the wires look like from the old onstar mirror. Is it a good bet that the top grey/brown wire is ground? I dont see anywhere else convenient to ground to up there.

backup camera install on 2009 vibe base

Hi all, I have a license plate camera and a rear view mirror display (mostly) installed on my 2009 base-- everything except for the actual wire cutting/soldering. My thought is to make the wiring as simple as possible: have the display and camera powered by the reverse lamp. I am fine with it only c...
