Re: 2007 Vibe Noise on Startup

Update: I don't know what's happening with the noise on startup behind the ignition switch, but I'm concentrating on the hesitancy on startup, as that was the initial thing I noticed. The battery is now completely dead and I'm taking it to a store to have them charge it. I have noticed that since th...

Re: 2007 Vibe Noise on Startup

I checked and it doesn't sound like the blend door actuator. It sounds like it's right at the ignition switch, but behind the the panel. Any idea what this sound could be?

Re: 2007 Vibe Noise on Startup

Oh, I see. I will definitely check that out. Thank you for the info, very helpful. I was thinking about the hesitation in starting, and wondered if it might be the fuel pump regulator. I saw online that if you just turn the key without starting it a few times to build up some pressure, and then it s...

2007 Vibe Noise on Startup

I have a 2007 automatic Vibe 1.8L with 90,000 miles. No problems until 3 days ago, when it was slow to start. Instead of starting right up immediately, it takes a few seconds to actually start running, but it DOES always start. I haven't driven or started it much since then, since I don't want to ma...

Re: AC Works Great and Then Stops

Thanks for the input. I took it to the mechanic and they called and said it was fine, nothing wrong with it, AC running great. I got there and it wouldn't get cool, which has been the pattern. When it goes to cool it will stay nice and cold until sometimes when it's turned off or car turned off, and...

AC Works Great and Then Stops

AC works great part of the time with cooooold air. Then other times nothing. I can't seem to find a pattern to it. Sometimes it works when I start up the car, other times I start up the car and it doesn't matter how many miles I go, it won't get cold. Then other times I will start up the car and aft...

Re: Thinking about upgrading to newer model vibe. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks for all the good input, especially the info about the 2.4L Gen 2 engine, which I wasn't aware of. The 1.8 works fine for me, so if I do upgrade I'll be sure to stay clear of the 2.4. Any other issues with the Gen 2 that haven't been mentioned?

Thinking about upgrading to newer model vibe. Any input is appreciated.

I have an 04 base Vibe which I love, but it's got 194K miles on it, so wondering if I should get a Gen 2. Maybe an 09 or 10. Are there a'ny problems I should know about with the Gen 2? I'm only interested in reliability, not worried about performance (snow, back window, etc.) Just want it to run whe...

Re: High Mileage Synthetic

Thanks for the info. Just wanted to check before making the change. At this point I think I'll stay with regular Mobil One as long as I'm not having any problems. Thanks again.

High Mileage Synthetic

I have an o4 Vibe that I've run Mobil One synthetic in for a good while now with no problems. At 172K miles, I'm thinking of switching to Mobil One High Mileage. Just wanted to check to make sure no one has had any problems with this before making the switch. Thanks for the help.

AC Clutch Screw

AC isn't working, checked the clutch screw and it's not there. Called the parts store and they don't carry it and don't have any specs on it. Does anyone know where I can get this screw, or where to find the specs? The parts store said it's probably a special size, not standard.

Airbag Recall Question

First, just want to say how much I like this site. It was very helpful in my decision to buy a Vibe. Does anyone know where I can find an airbag set or just the inflator that's NOT made by Takata? I think their recall is a little "iffy." Takata doesn't know what caused the problem, yet the...
