Re: No HVAC

Replacing the connector fixed the electrical problem but I had some more fun. When I started the fan I got grinding noises! I figured out that you can remove the cabin filter and reach in a spin the fan by hand. It was definitely not spinning free when mounted but fine when removed. This video showe...

Re: Smell gasoline and maybe exhaust

I have had this problem for the past year of so. I had my mechanic look and last year and he didn't find anything obvious. I had been dealing with it by turning the fan off when I was standing still. It wasn't a problem when moving. I don't know if it got worse but I discovered what it is. The catal...

Re: No HVAC

My blower motor on my 2005 vibe totally stopped working recently. After checking the fuse, i looked at a video about how to change the blower. The guy made an offhand comment about the connector going to the motor not looking right after he took it off. I removed the computer and was about to take t...

Re: Smell gasoline and maybe exhaust

I can definitely smell something when I'm idling. I found that if you don't blow in outside air that you can't smell it. Can turn on outside air (vs recirculate) when you are moving with no problem. Both me and my mechanic looked for obvious exhaust leaks and couldn't find anything that sounded like...

Re: Odd Electrical/Starting Issue

I was able to tap solenoid and then get in the car and start it then that stopped working. I had to get someone to hold the key in the start position while I lightly tapped and that worked until I had the starter replaced. My mechanic said something like this. Most solenoids are built with a large c...

Re: Odd Electrical/Starting Issue

I have a 2005 Vibe with about 130K on it. I had a problem where the battery was OK, but the starter would not engage. I had a great guy from AAA show me that tapping on the solenoid would allow it to start. I've only had to do it once myself and it didn't work the first two times I tried. The third ...

Re: Electric lock problem?

I recently put a small dent in my hatchback backing into a loading dock. After that the hatchback stopped locking. I took off the plastic pannel to see if I could fix it. It was a small dent and I thought I could pop it out from the back and things would realign and the lock would work again. No luc...
