Re: DRL PROBLEMS/ TAIL LIGHT

No, it's not right. And turn off your CAPS LOCK. There is no "DRL INDICATOR", there is a headlight indicator. It comes on when the headlights are on, along with the taillights. The light sensor is on the driver's side on top of the dash, it's a round "button" about the size of a...

Re: 03 pontiac vibe awd base

I will have to search some more but there is a way to check the ABS codes without using a scanner, you have to read the flashes. If I remeber right you use a jumper wire on the OBD port. The AWD system is full time, basically a 70-30% split, I can tell this when mine engages on slippery intersectio...

Re: DRL PROBLEMS/ TAIL LIGHT

I have an 04, and there is no DRL indicator on the dash, and the dash and tail lights do not light up in daylight either. When it gets dark, or if I cover the light sensor, the headlight indicator comes on, the dash lights dim and the tail lights are on. The only thing that's on during normal dayti...

Re: 03 pontiac vibe remote start/security

Remote Starts have a variety of safety features built in. What model did you install? May need more programming, does it have the option to adjust run/idle time before shutoff? bought a CSPI SP-402 1-Way Combo Alarm, Keyless Entry and Remote Start System CRIME STOPPER im really not sure about run t...

Re: remote start using OEM keyless fob

After it shuts off does it attempt a restart. If so it may not sense the car is running. The unit I installed looks for small changes that would indicate a spinning alternator...or you could hookup a tach wire that feeds the tachometer. If you did the latter and you have a wire that is not sending ...

Re: remote start using OEM keyless fob

Wondering what kind of splices you use to connect these cars. I used a process that bulldog suggested. remove wire casing and twist new wire into old. Never cutting the existing wiring. I also soldered some of the connections. Tape and small wire tie on the unsoldered ones. I have heard bad things ...

Re: 03 pontiac vibe awd base

ABS will not engage i get this annoying clicking'ish sound when i apply brakes, they are all new around car Not trying to upset you here- the ABS not engaging is a much bigger problem than the AWD not functioning. AWD may get you moving in low traction conditions, but ABS helps you stop! :) Did you...

Re: 03 pontiac vibe awd base

If it is guzzling gas that energy must go somewhere and convert into heat. You could drive it for 3 to 5 minutes. If possible stop the car without applying the brakes. Put it on jack stands and check if the transfer case, rear differential and rear brakes are excessively hot. There is a good chance...

Re: 03 pontiac vibe awd base

If I'm not mistaken, there should be a brake error code that can be read using a Diagnostic Scan Tool with ABS. I wouldn't drive around long with undiagnosed brake problems... This is one scan tool w/ ABS (not saying you should buy it, but this has that feature for reference): http://www.amazon.com...

Re: 03 pontiac vibe awd base

Again there doesn't appear to be any connection from the ABS to the Transfer case. Check your fluids brake, transfer case and rear diff. Also there is a fuse that if blown it will trip both lights IM ASSUMING FUSE IS UNDER HOOD? THEY LOOKED GOOD TO ME, I HAVE NO CLUE WHATS GOING ON WITH THIS DAMN C...

Re: 03 pontiac vibe awd base

I thought the AWD first gen vibes were always on. The transfer case always spins the rear drivesharft. The rear drive shaft is connected to the rear differential by a "viscous coupling", a small oil filled can with a lot of impellers, some connected to the driveshaft side, some connected ...

Re: 03 pontiac vibe awd base

Yes the AWD systems works independent of the ABS. There isn't any traction/stability control on the 03-06 AWD cars. Also the AWD isn't really a true AWD. It only engages when the front wheels slip. I suggest you get that checked out. It may just be a ABS sensor. Is your TPMS light on also? TPMS? i ...

Re: 03 Vibe P0420 *Need Help ASAP

i just bought 03 awd vibe, and got boned with po420 code, i bought new 02 sensor ''post cat'', then i got evap code, so bought new gas cap, evap went off, then o2 popped back on, the evap and 02, so i bought new vent selenoid, the light went off by itself, then couple miles later, BOOM, CEL popped o...
