Re: My stereo died :(

So after that one incident, my radio worked again the next day and I haven't had a problem with it since. I still would like to replace the unit though because my CD player is definitely kaput. The radio did retain the clock settings when it worked again. It was a pretty cold night and when I turned...

My stereo died :(

This May when I went to listen to a CD in my car for the first time in a while, I discovered that my CD player was no longer operational. I looked it up and I guess this is a common problem with Vibe stereos. I tried all of the tricks to fix it and they didn't work, so I threw in the towel on that. ...

Re: Shopping for new tires

Yeah I think that's what they did. They also checked the condition of my engine, fluid levels, brake pads, and gave me quotes on what else I needed to have done soon. So, transmission fluid and front brake pads this summer when I have a bigger paycheck. :)

Re: Shopping for new tires

So I got another flat two days ago and decided, that's it, I need new tires NOW! I went to a local tire place and they had some very affordable Mastercraft MC-440s. I went in early this morning, got them installed, and they're really nice! Later on I read some reviews on them and they seem to be pre...

Re: Shopping for new tires

I definitely noticed a huge difference when I added the weight. Before I added weight, I would slide very easily, even when I was being careful and going slow. After I added it, I felt a lot safer and in control and better able to stop.

Re: Shopping for new tires

I have to buy all-season tires because I really can't afford a separate set of snow tires. However, I've been driving on snow for years with all-season tires and it really has a lot to do with the skills of the driver too. I have 200 lbs of sand in the back of my car to help with traction, it really...

Re: Shopping for new tires

Thank you for all of that info! I will stick with the 16" tires then, and I will look into the Tiger Paws.

Shopping for new tires

Hey everybody, I have a 2004 AWD Vibe and it looks like it's time to replace my tires because my treads are getting worn. I try to learn as much as I can about my car, but I would not call myself car-savvy, so I came here for some advice. My car takes 205/55/16 and I am looking for some decent affor...

Okay, I'll keep a lookout on craigslist then. I should shop for 205/55/16?

Re: Winter Driving with 2004 AWD

You can't afford a set of snow tires, but you can afford another car? Yep, I will be paying for this car for the next 3 years. Tires.... Tires... Tires... Tires.... Tires!!!! Get the proper tires for the task! Why would you spend a couple thousand on a new car when you can get an awesome set of win...

Winter Driving with 2004 AWD

So a couple of weeks ago I had my first experience driving my 2004 AWD on icy roads with all-weather tires. It wasn't fun. I was cautious and didn't get over-confident, but I still managed to fishtail like crazy. This car is about 500lbs lighter than my old FWD Taurus, and I had no problem handling ...

I decided against the back window because it has too much going on already, and went with the rear side windows

One is a spider web and the other is a fairy. They're both about 6" in diameter.

Rear Window Decals

I bought some small decals to put on my rear window. I'm just wondering where an ideal spot for them would be, since the window has a black border. Should they be on the black or the clear part? I'll put one on the bottom left and top right so they won't be in the way of the wiper blade.

Bummer, my car doesn't have a CAN sensor...too bad I had to find that out after I bought the EcoMeter. Gonna have to send it back. :(

Re: Morwenna88-Red 2004 Base AWD

Just to double check and be sure before I buy it, will the EcoMeter absolutely 100% work with my car? Does my car have a CAN sensor?

I have an iPhone, but I think I will go with the EcoMeter just for convenience sake. I don't want to have to unplug it and plug it back in, etc. :)

Re: Morwenna88-Red 2004 Base AWD

However they are the slowest cars ever. MPGs can be decent. Check your rear diff seals and fluid level, also check the transfer case fluid level ASAP. The have known issue with them seeping and frying the rear diff. A $200 fix will save you $2000 repair later! I was kind of expecting my car to be s...

Morwenna88-Red 2004 Base AWD

Hello all! I just got my new (to me) Vibe today and I'm very excited! While I was sad to see my 2004 Taurus go, I'm so glad I made the decision to buy this car, she's so fun to drive and I'm very impressed with all of the extra features that this car has! It has the moons and tunes package, and I do...
