Yes, the snap is under the hood. The snap replaces a screw that helps hold the front bumper assembly in place.

It's the cutouts for the grille. If I replace the screw with the snap in the top-middle of the grille, the cutouts are about 5-6 inches too high. I just got a new 2005 Front End Cover (GM Part Number 12499896). I tried to install it and it doesn't seem to fit properly. Has anyone else had success installing their new Front End Cover?Thanks!
